Morning All,

Well Leo just earned another dose reduction!!! YAHOO!! :RAHCAT I just fed him a package of the FF Hors d'oeuvre chicken and beef, does anyone have any idea of the carb content in one of those packages? They must be HC considering the way Leo gobbled it up

We've had a good morning so far, did a test, shoot, feed with a new pen and i went BTB......now i'm up and at 'em ~O) ~O) Shopping for kitty fuds today (is there any other kind of shopping?) and driving my boy back out to his grandparents for the week, its back to work tomorrow for this momma.......someone's gotta keep Leo in FF, Wellness, strips and insulin!

We hope everyone has a great Fursday!

Re: 8/4 Leo AMPS 130, +3.5 49

Way to go, Leo! He and Bandit must have gotten together and decided they want to race to race downhill. :-D

I've fed the FF appetizers to Bandit with no problem--they're all low carb! He loves them for a treat, too, but that's not surprising because he loves just about anything he can get into--FF appetizers, canned salmon, sticks of butter, green beans, cupcakes....

Re: 8/4 Leo AMPS 130, +3.5 49

It's only LC?!?!?! All this time i thought it was HC, and holding out on Leo! Good to know, i thought it was HC and i wouldn't have checked Leo for another couple of hours.

I love how Bandit fits his name perfectly........food Bandit. You must be so happy that Bandit is working his way down the insulin ladder, is he feeling better?

Oh and btw i joined facebook again.....i quit for awhile, then just decided to start again, so add me up FDMB friends!! The name is Tracy Gaudry.

Hi guys, congrats on the dose reduction again! leo is looking might impressive these days .. hope he enjoys time with his grandparents .. have a great day!

Re: 8/4 Leo AMPS 130, +3.5 49

Yup, there's nothing in the ingredients that would add carbs, and I fed them to Bandit when he was OTJ with no increases, so they are surely low carb. I see an increase in his BG if I drop a piece of corn on the floor and he eats it. They are only supposed to be fed as treats or snacks, though, because they aren't nutritionally balanced. It's kinda the same as giving him a piece of cooked chicken/fish off your plate.

Bandit is doing much better! His Horner's has improved leaps and bounds the past couple weeks--you can barely notice it most of the time. He did go gray in his face from all the stress, though. I'm hoping it'll grow out.

I'm really hoping he goes OTJ soon because I'm on day 39 of his last Lantus pen--I don't want to spend $240 on a new pack of pens because the moment I do he'll be OTJ. I'm just kicking myself that I tossed his first pen before it was done because I thought it had gone bad--but it hadn't. So my fingers are crossed that the pen won't poop out before he's done.

Awww poor Bandit, gone grey already? But yay that his Horners has gotten better!!! There's no place you can purchase just one pen? I know i've heard Sienne say you might be able to purchase just one pen at a hospital? I still can't believe the price of a pack of pens down there, its crazy expensive.

Yay Leo! Look at those beautiful numbers! He is doing so well these days. Boo on back to work. We should all just win the lottery. We would need to with our FD expenses. Hope you have a great day Tracy!

I added you on FB - Melissa Kettler, so don't think I am a stalker.

The nearest hospital with a pharmacy that will sell me one is in Syracuse--about an hour away (and I was just there a few weeks ago for school! Wish I had thought of it then). With my work/Bandit schedule I just don't have a day where I can leave to go there any time soon.

It's funny, because I can't ever use this as an example with people on why we need health care reform, because the same people that disagree with me on the subject think it's ridiculous that I'm buying insulin for a cat.

Hi Tracy, very nice day and nice greens for Leo! On the FF Hors d'oeuvre chicken and beef, are those the packets. If they're lc, it might be something for Maggie, as she's so picky. I use the Lantus vial, and it lasts four months - I usually reorder the end of the third month to be on the safe side, but some use it even longer. I think I pay a little over $100.00 for one vial, and I get some reimbursement from my pet insurance.

Re: 8/4 Leo AMPS 130, +3.5 49, +4.5 52

Ok just to clarify I am the Tracy Gaudry wearing the grey shirt with dark brown hair on FB! I guess there are 2 other Tracy Gaudry wannabes!!

Wow do i ever have a crabby kitty, he just got a spanking from yours truly, I gave him a tap on the head and told him NO! I picked him up and he grabbed my hand and bit and scratched the bejesus outta me :o  Then i put him down and he walked over to his brother and slapped the s*#t outta him too. I fell asleep at my parents place, woke up 30 minutes before Leo's shot time to find him eating food out of the cat dish. I walked over and took it away and told him NO! Maybe this is why he's so pissed off at me. I guess he just caught and ate a mouse while i was snoozing, so this PMPS is totally food influenced. I wonder if the fact that he hasn't taken a poop in almost 2 days is the reason why he's so crabby, just like the other day when he was moody he had a big poop and was purry and lovey after that. Who knows?!?!

Who knows what goes on in Leo's kitty head. He's acting like a spoiled brat!!!

Totally OT but me leaving for work couldn't have come at a worse time. A few months ago my 90 yr old grandma fell, the docs figured she had a very badly bruised hip. She's been complaining about pain since and hasn't walked since then. My dad went to visit his momma yesterday and he said she was in obvious pain, so they took her to the hospital. Turns out she has a broken back and several compressed vertebrae as a result. She was taken by ambulance to saskatoons university hospital and my dad is stuck home with Leo. I feel horrible  he says he'll just work around Leo's schedule, but still.

Hey Tracy - I just sent you a FB friend request, but forgot to add the message that I know you from FDMB!! However, it looks like the point of this message is moot, since you just accepted!

Lovely day for Leo! I'm so sorry about yoru Grandma and your Dad, though. What a wonderful DGp he is...our thoughts and prayers are with you guys!

oh wow - so sorry about your DGm. I hope all will be well with her, many healing vines are set her way. oh wow - I know how painful that can be, my best to her.

Leo - you be good for your momma while she goes to work... I hear that Rusty has a mouse problem, and may need your expertise. Congrats too on your dosecrease, Make it work for you, OK?

Thanks friends!!

DGm update: my dad went to visit her Friday In the hospital (I'm sure he's there right now, cause he's not answering the phone) the docs called him in to witness her last will and testament, etc because they were planning on operating on her back. The docs figured she wouldn't pull thru the anesthesia because of her age, my dad, uncles and aunt decided not to go ahead with the operation. So she has been fitted with a back brace which should alleviate the pressure on her vertebrae and have adjusted her pain meds. I guess the brace should take care of most of her pain, but who knows about the actual broken back part, my dad figures she probably won't walk again  but he also said she is in good spirits about it all......she's a tough ol bird!

I'm sure Leo would love to help with Rustys mouse situation!

Beautiful numbers for Leo. He is doing awesome. Congrats on the reduction.

Sending healing vine to your DGM! I can't imagine the pain she must be in. I hope they are able to help her more than just the brace.
