8/31 Vesper +5 105 (Vesper returns from cross-country trip!)

Hi, all! It's been awhile since we've said hello. As many of you know, Vesper is notoriously difficult to care for, so we decided to take her on our 2.5 week trip to the East Coast. It was a long trip (2 flights at 13+ hours both ways), but she did great!! It was such a relief to have her with us and not stress about her getting her shot and not getting glucose checks. We won't be able to do it for international trips, but it is nice to have the option and know that she is a good traveler. I did misjudge her glucose though. We didn't give her any gabapentin or anxiety meds, so I assumed she would be very stressed and it would be high when we traveled, but because she wasn't eating, she was actually too low when we landed. We opted to skip the shot this morning and that was the better call, as she was at 102 at +5. We are now safely back home and settling back in. I tried to post a pic of Vesper lakeside in a catio, but it wouldn't upload :(

I was relieved when I found out Neko did OK travelling with us. 10 minutes to the vet - no way! Car/ferry/plane/train - that was OK. Cats!

Do you mind adding "TR" to your signature? It's just a bit faster than having to scroll to the top of the spreadsheet. I actually like having it in both places.

I hope now that you are home you'll be able to get back into the habit of getting a later PM test after PMPS. Especially since he did go below 50 on this dose already.

Welcome back! I’ve always been jealous of folks who can travel with their cats or even take them outside. Pookey would be a huge ball of anxiety lol.

What error were you getting? I haven’t heard of any upload issues but I can look into it!
I totally get that--our other cat is not a great traveler! Takes him a long time to settle in somewhere, so it's not worth it because he's stressed the whole time. We are really lucky about Vesper in this respect. She steps out of her carrier like she's a queen surveying her new land.

When I try to upload it as an attachment, it never gets past 0%. And when I try to drag & drop, it gives me a message that "the uploaded file was not an image as expected."

Yes, it's such a relief!! I had a lot of fears because she's the same--will howl the whole way to the vet 1 mile away, but then is fine on a 13 hour journey.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's "TR"? Will do that ASAP once I figure out what/how

And yes--will get back to testing after the PM shot. Perhaps we need to reduce her dose soon.

TR stands for the Tight Regulation Protocol as a dosing method. Here’s a link describing it:
Sticky - Dosing Methods: Start Low, Go Slow (SLGS) & Tight Regulation (TR)

It is so cool that Vesper traveled well for you. Opens up a lot of flexibility!!

Hmm. What size and image type?
Got it to work!! Here's Vesper on vacation in Vermont!
