Hello all! Tip is doing a bit better tonight, she ate this morning on her own! Probably helps that it was kind of cool. Anyways, gave her 5 units as was suggested. She still had some food left when I went to class this morning(I was almost late, whoops!), and my grandpa told me she was kind of grazing all day on it.

Fast forward to tonight and....her temp was normal! 101.6, awesome. She ate tonight as well, not too much, but enough. So I'm just going to let her graze on it. It's pretty well watered down, so I'm not too worried about it going bad.

tonight when I was testing her, I did notice a nasty bruise and some scabs on her right ear though, so for the next test I'm getting, if my grandpa is up, I'm going to have him demonstrate how he's doing it and if I can give tips to help make it easier on the both of them.

As for me? Well, I'm going to take a small nap even if it's kind of late for one. I'm exhausted.

Grazing is good. the main thing is to keep eating.

Show your grampa this picture and tell him to rotate a bit, up down. other ear.
might help slow the bruising.
Did you also give him the neosporin ointment to lightly dab? it helps with the scabbing.

If you are using a lancing device, check the setting to see if it's too high. If you are always getting an adequate
blood drop now, it may be too high.
If freehand, it might be a little of the technique. I understand you should come at it at an angle, not straight on.

Hope the ears feel better.

Right, which is why I left out enough food out for both of them to graze on the rest of the night. Extra watered down because tonight is unusually hot.

Yes, I did give him some neosporin to use, I'll need to be getting a new tube soon though. I'll pass the sweet spot picture on to him, I did explain where it is, but it'll probably help better to show him a picture.

I did not know about the lancet thing myself,i've been using the alternate testing site attachment this whole time. That's something for me to look for tomorrow.

I'm heading to sleep now though, thanks for the tips.
