Good Morning Everyone,

Healing thoughts and vines going out to Tarragon today. Get well, buddy!

Rusty is right back up there. If I see no improvement today I think I'll make that appointment with the new vet to see if something is brewing. He seems fine, but I guess you never know.
No fur shot this morning, in any event.

We're off on a paddle and will be back around +9 or +10, so Rusty will have lots of time to chillax.

Hummmm, a little high for Rusty this morning, Ella, I notice he hit yellow yesterday too. I haven't been reading much, but it sounds like there were some changes in Rusty's routine (company, etc.), so that may be what's happening. When Spot starts to get those higher numbers, it's either from stress (company) or he's constipated....or sick, the last time his numbers were so wonky (before the reunion) was from his chin acne. It's a good idea to get him to the vet, just for a checkup at least.

Oh, Rusty!!! You and Champers both get to go to the vet because you won't tell us what's going on!!!

I hope it ends up being nothing and Rusty's just taking a vacation from the good numbers. Have a great paddle!!

Hope nothing is wrong with Rusty and this yellow is just an oddity which will disappear.

Hi Ella, good idea to take Rusty to the Vet for peace of mind and for that gut feeling you have that something is going on with your baby! Every six months for senior kitties is what Maggie's Vet recommends. Enjoy your paddle, and we'll do something fun with Rusty today.

Good idea on the vet. This is so unlike Rusty. I hope the paddle is fun today at least no worries about lows while you are out.

Rusty.....my goodness what is up with these numbers? I've been away for a few days and missed what happened, you had company?

Ella Did you check your Insulin?? Check his chin for any acne spots? Moonie had gone up when she had a slightly infected feline acne spot!- Clavamox fixed it all up!-Good idea to go to vet for him, and for You!!

Hi again, Today was worser and worser!! I started a new cartridge of Lev. on August 11th, so unless the insulin isn't good, I don't think it's the insulin. But it is pretty clear that his numbers have not been as good lately, and since I fattened the dose they have gone up, not down! I'm going to make an appointment with the new vet tomorrow and hope she'll be able to look at him this week. Since Rusty only went twice to Stu's old vet--and only for vaccinations--I don't see why I shouldn't start fresh with a new vet. I'll also ask her for a new prescription and get it filled here, rather than waiting for it to come from Canada. That way I'll be able to tell if it is the insulin gone bad. I've tested both of our meters and strips on myself and they seem to be fine. I don't think I've given any fur shots in the last few days!!

So that's the news from here. We had a good day on a very large lake. Rusty ate from his automat. He was so happy to see us when we got home. I gave him some hairball gel tonight, just for good measure!

We are very concerned about Tarragon and send positive thoughts to Melissa.

p.s. no contraband. Rusty won't even look at "people food". He is remarkable in that regard.

Ella , I know too much insulin can cause high numbers too. Have you had jill or Libby take a look at Rusty's SS lately? Any ideas form them?
 
Hi Ella - so sorry to be so late in visiting...

Oh my on the numbers - Rusty, please come down. ... I wish I had an answer for you. Sounds like maybe a trip to the vet is in order,as you have planned. Good luck! Try not to worry... I know the feeling you are probably going through right now.. been there on more than one occasion with Mannie.

I am glad that you had a good paddle. It sounds wonderful! I love it when our kitties miss us!
 
Oh wow....this is so not like Rusty. I vote for some bad insulin even if you haven't had it very long.

Glad you got some canoeing in. I sure hope Rusty comes down with some new lev. Also....do you think it could be too much insulin???? I don't know much about lev but I know with lantus that too much insulin can also make numbers higher.
