Good Morning, L&LL,

We are thinking of all of you dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane and hope that everyone in Texas and Louisiana is OK.

Never did get Rusty's condo started yesterday. He ate poorly until I broke out one of my remaining cans of "old" formula Wellness. Then he ate pretty well. I still don't have a good replacement for old-formula Wellness. I hoped that RAWZ would be it, but he seems to have tired of it. And he's not eating Newman's 95% Chicken and liver, either (this is a food we have had some success with). Yesterday I wrote to Wellness to express my disappointment that they had ruined a perfectly good food.

Rain here this morning. It is supposed to clear this afternoon and go down to freezing tonight. We're having a houseguest for the Labor Day Weekend. I hope she brings enough warm clothes. Highs tomorrow are going to be in the 50s.

anyway,

I do not know the carbs on it.... it's not on the list.

But both my kitties love it and I give them one can to split as a mid day meal.

They won't eat pumpkin by itself,
but they love it here.
 
I also share your frustration, Ella. Maybe you will hit upon something Rusty likes.
Rhiannon - that pairing looks interesting - I wish it came in pate - Murphy won't eat those shredded meals.
It is all so frustrating, but we plod along
Have fun over the weekend - I love temps in the 50s.

I hope you hear back from them and hear what you and everyone else would love to hear, " we'll change back to the old formula".

Eat your Fuds Rusty. Bubba is not eating well either unless I sprinkle some FlortiFlora on his food. :banghead:

Enjoy you houseguest and your weather is just too cold for me!

Rusty doesn't do well with shreds because he only has 5 teeth. Just one more complication :p!

He had a pretty good day today. His breathing sounds quite a bit better, and he ate his +9 snack (a couple of teaspoons of Wellness) with a half capsule of Renew Ultimate probiotic mixed in. I am so happy that the powder in these capsules does not have any taste and completely dissolves in the food. He was still hungry at "happy hour time", so he got some RAWZ, which he also cleaned up. Yay! I don't worry about food spikes because the most important thing is that he eats. We offer him food every day an hour before PMPS because he likes to sit on the couch with us and thinks he deserves a "munchie", too. (Note to newbies: DO NOT COPY this idiosyncratic manner of feeding. Rusty is 18 years old, a grazer, not food-motivated, and anything we can do to get him to eat, we do.)

Still struggling with measuring an 0.1- unit dose on the Monojects (0.10mm on the calipers). Sometimes it's too much, sometimes too little (impossible to tell how much insulin is hiding in the cone). I can't believe how small this dose is, but if he doesn't get his insulin he goes up into the yellows.
Today was Convenia Day 3.

I've had success with Holistic Select Chicken or Turkey varieties...I think the pate consistency is very similar to Wellness, maybe a bit more of the gelatine. I'm still able to get the old formulation of Wellness, but I'm not sure for how much longer.

I tried Holistic Select, but Rusty didn't like it. I'm stuck with a case for now! Hoping to try it again after a hiatus. Lucky you to still be able to get old Wellness!

I think not! Rusty won't eat pumpkin in any event. Glad your kitties like it.

Feel free to,send some rain here to the dry PNW. I'd trade for your temps too, supposed to get 30's C and possibly smokey again. :eek:
 
So hear you on the Wellness! it was Mannie's staple food. He crossed to the Bridge before the formula change... not too sure what I would have done if that had happened when he was with us. He loved the Wellness. That and the Merrick Cowboy. I wish you much luck! Know too on the "whatever they will eat". It was that way the couple of months before he crossed when he was so sick. Such a challenge to find foods he liked....

OH MY on your weather. Freezing tonight? Here we are with a warm September... 75/85 for the next two weeks! Crazy, and go figure!
