Yesterday Neko came down to a bit of blue during the day and then took off in a rocketship. I didn't smell anything, but it sure looks like I gave a fur shot last night. ohmygod_smile

I gave Neko her dosecrease back to 1.25 units. I'm pretty sure this morning's numbers were the result of a fur shot, but the old dose wasn't looking that great anyway. I've had a bit of sleep, which was one of the goals of the reduction. Bring on those greens Neko!

Neko was very loving this morning. Normally after she scarfs her dinner she is raring to go "places to do, things to do momma", and I can barely contain her for her shot. Part of why a fur shot is a possibility for last night. This morning on my lap after the shot, she decided to stay a while. I was in heaven. She stayed on my lap purring for over 1/2 hour until I had to put her down and get Otto ready for the +1 feeding. Neko is much more a lap cat in winter and usually the civie lays claim to my lap so it was a very pleasant change this morning.

The sun is back here, Neko had a good yard patrol after +1, cats are now holding down the solarium beds, and I'll be heading out soon for more house painting.

ETA: Found a reference to this continuous BG monitoring system on the Veterinary Partner web page. Apparently it's over $1000, but with the cost of strips, sure makes one think.

Sorry about the furshot last night.
I hope Neko will work the extra juice, and we'll see her blue/green soon.
I'm glad Neko spent a lovely lap time this morning, sending her bean to heaven. :-D
Neither of my cats are a lap cat, so I'm envious!
They like to climb on me only when I'm lying down.

Interesting about the continuous BG monitoring system.
Obviously for cats, keeping the device on would be a problem, but if that can be resolved, the cost makes sense!

@Mariko - the article mentioned using a collar to keep the device on, so clearly easier for a dog. If they just made the device a bit smaller they'd probably have a new market. I especially like the alarm system if the BG goes low. That would SO allow me to get better sleep.

Your lap time with Neko this morning sounds nice. I always hate it when I have to move for some reason if I have a purring kitty on my lap.

A continuous BG monitoring system that worked with cats would be great. I hope Neko recovers from the fur shot quickly.

How wonderful to have a lap kitty before the cooler weather.

That is a very neat device.....
I'm hoping they get it where all ( including cats) can use it and the price comes down too.

That does look like a promising device. I wonder how it works. How does it sample blood if it's on a collar?

Neko, we hope that you will work that dosecrease. Sorry that you got a fur shot (Rusty got one the other day, too).

Wendy, enjoy the weekend. I have noticed that Rusty is beginning to do "winter mode" things again (like napping in his cube, which he ignored all summer). Cats know!!

A nice slide including 100 points in the last 4 hours. :o Neko supervised me painting railings from the deck this afternoon, I think it helped me. ;-)

@Carla - Looks like good progress on recovering from the fur shot. :-D I could have stayed with Neko on my lap for quite a while this morning. Even beats btb. :-D

@Rhiannon - A bit cooler this morning after rain the previous days, probably helped make a lap kitty. I think the device would be very popular if smaller and better priced.

@Ella - Liz found a great description of it. There are separate devices, one for taking blood, one for collecting data. Neko's recovering nicely. On winter mode, I guess that'll mean more shedding again. :roll:

@Liz - I like the new word for being immobilized by a cat! Neko did her best sliding the end of the cycle. I am quite happy I got some sleep, not sure about tonight though. :? Thanks for looking up the monitoring system details. Project for your class?

Nice slide today, Neko! Hope this dose gets you back into the blues and greens! Glad the sun is back and glad you got some railings painted...with supervision, of course! :-D Happy Caturday, Wendy!

What a nice pm cycle for Neko. Guess she likes the dose. :-D I sure like that continuous monitoring system, wouldn't that be great if he could do something like that for our furkids? I love the lap sit too - how nice when they do that. Good job Neko.
