Good Morning LL and Happy Last Day in August!

The trial that must not be named starts today - oops, guess I already blew that in my title. Oh well. Muffin was unusually hungry this morning, so I think someone else ate her food over night. I took the opportunity to try only serving wellness core and cooked chicken chunks - she was not happy about that, only licked the fortiflora off the wellness. So pushover that I am, I caved and gave her some FF dry, which she's been grazing on over the last half hour. All p's in place this morning and nothing nasty in the LB from all that fortiflora so far.

She seemed so excited about this trial last night, running off to play downstairs, and then she throws me a pretty high number for her this morning. I'm already worrying...but I'll test in 3-4 hrs.

Fingers and paws crossed!

ETA: I also just realized that yesterday was her 2 month annifursary of dx. Perfect time for a trial huh?

Ok Muffin girl...we would like to see evidence of your little pancreas working away...so maybe a +3 will show a nice drop. Or a +4 (Raja always had lower numbers at +4) That 132 is still a nice healing blue...but we think you will look so much better in green...

For what it's worth, my vet was really emphatic in telling me not to panic if I saw some mid-to-high 100s, that a lot of cats are a little high when they first come off the juice. I'm sure Muffin will get into the zone soon!

+15 101 That's 3.5 hrs after she started eating breakfast. This means Ms P is working, right?! She just ate again, should I check again in 3-4 hrs? Or just wait for pmbg? I did promise her fewer pokey-pokey's ...maybe I'll just wait. But..but..but...more information is better, right? And now I understand holding breath while meter counts down. :lol:

During our trial, we've been testing four hours after each larger meal when we can. I don't think it's essential, but if you're able to do so after AMBG/PMBG, it might be nice.

I had to test, I couldn't help it. +19 150 Now I wish I hadn't. Looks like her inverted curve is still in tact. She ate a very small snack at +15, and is finishing it now, but those were not large meals, so I refuse to get discouraged so soon. Taking Amy's advice: breathe in....breathe out. Also keeping Weeble's words in mind that mid blues are not uncommon. Roni, I was really hoping to see green, but the day is not over yet, right?! And if it does end with no green, well, there's always tomorrow...and the next day....and the next day...I really just want her to be healthy (she's already got the happy part down) and I know she's doing her best.[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[<-----Muffin typed that :lol: Her way of saying hello. Thanks for the encouraging words Ella.

Overall not a bad day for Muffin I guess. Muffin somehow snuck out back tonight - I had to go out and drag her in for her test. I'm really shocked at her wanting to be out so much lately, and it makes me wonder if she's been feeling a bit poorly for the last several years. Either way, I'm really happy she's feeling so good now. I'll get one more test in a couple hours, which will be 3-4 hrs after she ate last. This feeding she just licked fortiflora. I called the vet today and told her what was going on, and she was very excited, and wants a printout of the SS for Muffin's file. Back after America's Got Talent to catch up on condos again.
 
+26 120 She really didn't eat very much 3.5 hrs ago like I thought she would. She decided to go out back for quite a while. Had to drag her in for pmbg, and she went right back out afterwards. Just got her in for the night 30 mins ago, so now she is really eating dinner. Should I set the alarm for 3 or 4 hrs from now and test?
 
I'm no pro, but you shouldn't do that to yourself. You're not going to make any changes tonight so you might as well get some sleep.

I don't know that much, but your numbers seem far from discouraging. Hopefully she's happy and you'll soon see numbers that will make you happy, too.

Number came down, not by much, but still came down, and you might as well sleep tight.
Nice to hear thou that she is feeling good. :-D
