Max barfed some foam and a bit of hair, not a hairball, just hair, this morning. Should I be concerned about that?

Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=78141

Yesterday we had some, ahem, issues with that part where the sun don't shine. Still same issues today. May be going to the vet if I cant' figure out what to do. It doesn't seem serious at this point, but I don't want to wait too long.

Re: 8/31 Max AMPS 132

Dale,
I'd call the vet and ask. There might some ointment or something that you might just be able to pick up without putting Max thru the trip stress. Ask them if more fluids might help? If so, watch for any fluids related activity during today's curve.
Sending "no more pain in the butt" vines to Max:-)

Re: 8/31 Max AMPS 132 Important question

Thanks, Carl. I edited my original post because I forgot that Max barfed a little foam this morning with some strands of hair in it -- On the Persian carpet, of course!

I just posted this in your condo from yesterday.

Please make an appointment to take Max to the vet. Anbesol may not be safe for cats. You don't know for sure what this is or how to treat it. (For example, someone had suggested using Tea Tree oil for fleas. It's toxic for cats and dogs.) Rather than risk making things worse, please get a professional to help.

Also, are you moving Max's litter box around? You mentioned it was outside. If you move a cat's box, it's bound to make the cat anxious. Cat's like routine. Disrupt their routine, and they are not happy. Peeing on your bed is one way to let you know something's wrong.

Re: 8/31 Max AMPS 132 Important question

Yep, anbesol can be used on a cat ONE TIME only. Probably not much use in that case, and not worth the slight risk that once is too many times. It may cause a serious condition that is fatal, but vomiting is not a symptom of it. Confusion is. However, he was acting strange before I put it on him, and then he stopped acting that way afterward. He's a cat, that's for sure. He's going to the vet just in case.

Good call

Re: 8/31 Max AMPS 132 Important question

Dale, unless you're headed out the door to the vet with Max, can you jump in with Alexa/Reuben? No one else is around (Car; said he has to leave in a few) and I also have to go in about 15 minutes. I can (and will) cancel my appointment if I must but I've been on all day and would like not to have to cancel...
Just asking,
thanks,
Jane

Max is fine. The vet didn't even think his bottom looked bad. She said she thought he might have torn it with a difficult poo, but the glands looked fine, and she had no concerns. She wasn't his regular vet, as I was trying to get him in asap. He poo'd in the car on the way there -- enough poo that I'm certain he didn't poo last night. It wasn't a constipated poo either -- normal except for the amount if a little light in color. He had no ill effect from the anbesol, but I won't try that again no matter what.

(The really horrifying thing is that regular Anbesol is NOT in a child-proof container. It turns out that if a child drank it even part of it, the child would probably die. Even children's anbesol will make a child very sick if the child eats it, and the child could die, but it's NOT in a child proof container, EITHER. That little container is going into a big child-proof bottle now!)

Glad Max is OK and no effects from the anbesol. Good plan to secure the anbesol in a childproof container too. Have a great evening!

If someone had told me a year ago that I would be riveted to, and relived by a post on the internet celebrating "cat poo", I think I might have said they were crazy?

I guess it's me that is crazy

Yay MAX!

That calls for this:

That looks like a Hershey's kiss to me - a slightly melted one that is dancing. Hmmm, maybe I've been poisoned! I am hungry, and when that happens you know how everything looks like food? Even dancing poo? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not that!!!!!

Re: 8/31 Max AMPS 132 +3.75~95

When I saw the "poo update", I was going for a "Mr. Hanky" icon, and when I searched, I found the dancing poo and couldn't pass it up!

And yes, Rhiannon, there's an emoticon for EVERYTHING! I haven't searched for one yet and not been able to find it.

LOL you guys are so funny! Thanks for the morning chuckle. I'm sure this will cross my mind during litterbox cleaning today! :-D

Hi, Angela and Lisa, and everyone checking in. I'm glad Rhiannon has such a great sense of humor! Here's one for you: my old roommate used to say that his German shepard was "sampling the Almond Roca" -- from the litterbox! Picture that!
