Morning ~O) ~O) and thanks again for all your support and the humor with all the problems with Maggie's bm issues and her enema spa days at Vetty where she seemed to be enjoying herself and forgetting why she was there in the first place! :-D
I am very surprised at this blue AMPS. Yesterday at around 3:30 pm Maggie had a nice, long prezzie. It took two days at the Vetty with three enemas to get her to release two poos, and the diagnosis is Megacolon. So now we know how to treat it. I won't state the measurement of the latest prezzie, as I'm afraid of getting kicked off the Board for so much detail and all the poo talk. What you all put up with me is amazing! Instead I'll add it to Moonie's condo where now she has a poo meter, making things more official!

I guess the 216 PMPS was still FF Beef Gravy Lovers hc, as I had a need to carb her up yesterday. Mags was really hungry this morning, and she woke me up at 2 am; her shot wasn't due until 5:30 am! I moved it up by 15 minutes, trying to get back on her time clock. Her numbers are getting better with the release of more prezzies and hopefully on her way to semi regular. Maggie was playing with her pole toy, so that means she's feeling good. Wishing everyone a nice day and special thoughts for Melissa and Tarragon this morning meeting with a Specialist. Healing vines to all kitties needing them.

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138

Nice AMPS Maggie! That is much more like her old self. Glad to hear that she is still wrapping you up prezzies. I have to go check out the poo meter on Moonie's condo. Hope you have a great day Ann! Thank you for all your good thoughts. We really appreciate it.

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138

Hi Ann,
So nice to read that Maggie is having success in the poo department. (And I'm glad that I only have to read about it!) Looks like a good day shaping up for you both. Maggie, we are happy that you are playing with your pole toy again. Rusty says not to miss the Full Blue Moon party tonight at Camp Stu.

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Maggie, Wear your blue number to the party tonight, OK? Mannie will pick you up in the bus.

Poo talk doesn’t bother us, we just want the kitties to feel good and be healthy!!!
It’s all part of the package!

Good day to you!

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138

GO MAGGIE!!! prezzie's!! and a poo meter - that is too funny. Well I am glad you know what is going on with her and can treat ti going forward. Always good news.

I love the Amps. Maybe all the poo issues kept her elevated a little? Dunno.. maybe just the new dose kicking in. :-D :-D With all the play etc it sounds like she is feeling really good. YAY!!!!! :-D :-D

Enjoy your day today Ann - a walk maybe?

I'm so not used to shooting late but will need to hang around til I know Mags is stable.

Melissa, yes let's hope Maggie continues with wrapping up prezzies!

Ella, I was so happy to see her playing with her pole toy! I promise, no pics of her prezzies!

Thanks Amy, I have fingers and Maggie's paws crossed for Trixie today on her new dose!

Donna and Asher, thank you so much. That's what it's all about here, making sure our kitties feel good.

Thanks Angela, I hope so, too, her numbers improve once she's regulated and on the helping meds for megacolon.

Hi Michelle, I asked the Vet who was caring for her on Tuesday if the higher numbers were tied to the constipation issues, and she said, any time there is stress which Mags was under a great deal of stress this past month plus! I'll pick up the Cisapride today and sart her on it.

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138; +2 125

Hi guys .. Pretty numbers for pretty maggie! I'm so glad she had some nice prezzies for you .. I guess I did not catch that she was actually diagnosed with megacolon, but I am glad you are able to treat it .. fingers crossed this is the last of the vetty spa days! Have a great weekend guys!

Looks like a nice blue slide and no drama today. :-D

Thanks Devon for the fingers crossed for no more spa Vetty days. Have a great weekend, too. How is our little Mocha these days, still playing with the pretties! (Q-tips)

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138; +2 125; +3 110

Good job Maggie! Its amazing what some productive time in the LB can do for a girl.

ETA: I'm wondering if the cat grass was the exact thing she SHOULDN'T have eaten with the megacolon. Any ideas on that?

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138; +2 125; +3 110

Hey there Ann and Maggie! Let's have some cheering, I think:

And some themed giggles are in order, too:

Jane, thank you for the pic   It is too funny, cute and perfect for the occasion. Love the sparklies, too!

Thanks Amy, it took some work and spa treatments.
On the wheatgrass, now that you mention it, I'm not sure. Interesting that it did not stay long in her colon, with everything else getting lodged up there! I guess it came out, but everything was already too impacted for the wheatgrass to have any effect. I don't think it did any harm at all though.

Yay to poo prezzies! That's super duper news! I'm also glad that you're seeing some more familiar numbers. I bet the evacuation of the you know what helped to bring her down a bit. Time to celebrate!

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138; +2 125; +3 110; +4 94

Obviously from her numbers Miss Maggie is feeling lots better and playing w/ her wand toy! :thumbup Keep us up to dateon the prezzies and the vet report.

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138; +2 125; +3 110; +4 94

Great report for Maggie! Nice blue AMPS for the blue moon. Glad she finally gave you the prezzie you have dreamed about, and you know about her meagcolon now so you can factor that into her care. Have a great rest of the day!

Maggie did good and ate while I was gone. I had so many errands to run. I picked up the Cisapride for Mags, so now I can start it today. When I went into the Vet's office, one of the Vet Tech's dogs was sitting in the Receptionist chair, and another little white shaggy dog had a stuffed teddy bear in her mouth was on the floor asking to play. What a nice greeting! :-D So cute; then a human came out and spoiled all our fun, and I had to pay for her med, $31.00 for one bottle. It will probably last a while.

Thanks Tamara so much! Yes, definitely the evacuation of the you know what has helped her numbers. I kept uping her dose with the constipation. Now I'd like to decrease, but guess I have to wait for the right number.

Thanks and Ann & Tess, will do with the updating and Vet report. I missed a call by one of the Vet Techs wanting to know if she had a poo last night. None to report. I wonder if they expect her to make a prezzie every day!

Hi Leslie and Jasper, thanks so much, and yes, exactly! I'm so sorry she has the diagnosis of megacolon, but now I know and there are treatments. I could not figure out why my home methods were not working with the Miralax and Lactulose. It took 3 enemas, lots of fluids, and several X-rays to even get two bowel movements.

It's good to hear that Maggie is feeling good and playing with her pole toy. Hopefully the new medicine will help her and she'll keep giving you good prezzies.

I too was happy to hear about Maggie wanting to play with her pole toy. And nice green today too! The shelter I volunteered at had a cat on long term Cisapride - kitten was hit by a car in the rear as a 6 week old, causing some permanent back end problems. He was on cisapride for life, but it definitely did the job.

PMPS 116

Nice blue to end the day!

Carla, thanks, I was happy to finally see Mags play and get some exercise. The play time/exercise will also help her with the prezzies business.

Hi Wendy, very interesting with the kittten being helped with the Cisapride after an injury to his back. It's very encouraging for Mags. I just started her on it earlier, and it's to be given once every 8-12 hours. She took it really well.

Re: 8/31 Maggie AMPS 138; +2 125; +3 110 +4 94 +8 131 PMPS 1

The vet I saw today said she'd like to see a cat poo twice a day! I'm not sure I've ever seen a cat poo twice a day everyday, but she said at least once is important. If that's not happening she said to give fluids more often. However, my cat has CRF, so it may be that a cat without that can poo less. Well, at least Maggie hasn't had any problems from pooing every other day, huh? Let's hope that's fine.

Love the numbers Ann - very nice. It sounds like your day has been a busy one. I hope you can find time tonight to sit and relax, enjoy Maggie time. You both deserve it.

Thanks Michelle on the greenies! Mags is feeling good; I just hope I can stay up to catch any drops. She woke me up at 2 am! We didn't have any poo today, but that's to be expected, as I just started her on the Cisapride, the one which should help.

Hi Dale, I agree with not knowing too many kitties who poo twice a day, except Leo (Tracy). Mags has Stage 2 CRF, but the Vet she saw on Tuesday said she didn't think home fluids were necessary yet. I hope Max will be okay. I guess I'll need to find what their expectations are of Maggie with the poo area once she's settled into her meds. Some kitties here only poo every other day.

Hi Roni, we were posting at the same time. Thanks on the kudos for Mags and making her the winner.
Thanks so much for your special thoughts and love.
