Happy Tuesday, LL! To those still enduring the effects of Irene....our thoughts are with you. A decent start to the day here....Zoe had a great test-feed-shoot with lots of purrs, but not so many cuddles...she wanted breffis, so apparently, there was no time for cuddles. :roll: :mrgreen: She survived the return of the evil vacuum cleaner yesterday :evil: ....and it is ANOTHER gray, cloudy and rainy day here in FL....in other words a lazy day...seems like a perfect day, to either btb or curl up with a good book. ;-)

Hi guys .. nice numbers yesterday zoe! I see you found your way back to the greens already .. nice job! I hope zoe decides after her fuds she was ready for cuddles .. they're the best .. have a great day!

Sherry asked for some input on Zoe's SS.

Could you provide a bit of info on when you're feeding Zoe? I'm wondering if we need to look at the feeding schedule as well as dose. Do you know how much Zoe will spike from a meal as well as from a snack?

Zoe's feeding/eating schedule: not a strict schedule, but this is pretty close

AMPS eats 1-2 ozs of food
+1/+2 - a tsp of food if she asks for it
+6+7 - lunch - about an oz of food
+9 - snack of a tsp of food with chicken
+11 - snack of cooked chicken (if she asks for it)

PMPS eats 1-2 ozs of food
+4 - +5 - bedtime snack of food
+9 mini meal of food and chicken
+11 mini meal of cooked chicken

She eats only low Carb foods ranging from 1% to 3%. She doesn't seem to spike much from a meal or a snack. Her AMPS are usually lower if she eats both mini meals over night......if she ignores them, her AMPS is higher.

Hi guys! very nice numbers from Miss Zoe today. Gray and dreary here today too, at least there is n rain... just no sun either.

Numbers look great! I'll leave the SS input, etc to the experts.

Looks like Zoe had a lovely day and a nice start to the evening. Hoopefully it's a little sunny and dry tomorrow so she can enjoy the patio.
 
I'm wondering if the +9 and +11 snacks might be bringing her PS numbers up. Some cats can't handle much food late in the cycle, when the insulin's action is starting to wear off.

If you're looking to bring the PS numbers down, it might be worth trying to move those feedings earlier in the cycle to see what happens. Either that or get some late cycle tests (+7 and +9 maybe) in a few cycles to find out when the rise starts. I don't think you have much room for a dose increase until you try rearranging the meals first. She was in the 50s two days ago. Just my opinion. :smile:

I would lose the +11 feeding. I think it may be inflating your pre-shot numbers. Add the snack back in before nadir. Let's see how the change in feeding goes for several days and re-evaluate.
 
I can lose the +9 minimeal without a problem......the +11 is just plain chicken.....if she doesn't get it, she is in at 4am waking me up......the chicken allows her to egt a little food in her belly and me an hour of sleep until AMPS.

Would plain cooked chicken raise her bg?
 
Everything has carbs, but cooked chicken, I dont think it will raise numbers--It's pure protein!
