Happy Fursday everyone!

Shasta woke me up again last night. Not sure if it was a "Mom, I'm hungry" wake-up or a "Mom, there was a loud noise because NASA just launched a rocket" wake-up. Either way, I was a grumpy momma! However, she was very sweet this morning...lots of love, purrs, and chatter. She's not overly excited about her breffis. Even holding her bowl to her face didn't work! :o  She's pooping and peeing fine; poo was a bit strange in consistency..a few pieces looked fine, but one piece looked more like cake batter that was a bit dried out and crumbly. :?

Otherwise, she seems to be doing ok. The "I don't want to eat all of my breffis" bothers me, though. Wondering if the Friskies has started going bad. (wish they made a 3 oz can of Friskies...hate wasting!)

Ok, I'm headed off to work! Hope everyone has a thrilling Thursday!

Good starting numbers today, hope she holds the line.

Shasta, you must eat! mamabean needs piece of mind when she is absent.
You get in there and graze....

Nice day for Shasta so far! Too cute on the wake up in the night. Cuddles are a good way to drift in and out of sleep.

Sorry about the breffis. We use FF classic so it is in nice 3 oz cans. Our kitties don't go for the big cans after they have been opened. Have a wonderful day Deborah!!

Hi Deborah and nice day for Shasta! l also like the 3 oz cans if the flavor comes in that size. They do like to wake us up at crazy hours. :-D Have a great day.

Re: 8/30 Shasta AMPS=289; +1=250; +1.5=171

:-D Hello all!

Mid-night cuddles are always cute...mid-night wet nose and paw poking my face - not so cute!!

I feed Shasta FF, as well. However, after her horrible diving session last week, I opened a can of mid-carb Friskies and then didn't want it to go bad. So, I've been mixing in a teaspoon here and there to try to even out her numbers for the week. She likes to take really big dives between +1 and +2, as she seems to have an early nadir. Anyways, that's why I was thinking she was being pickier this morning about her breffis...maybe the little bit of Friskies I put in there was starting to go bad. One way to find out...I will see if she turns her nose away from the can tonight or if she goes to eat from the can! I'm such a sneaky momma! ;-)

Hope everyone is having a good day and all the kitties are in good numbers and good spirits!

Awe, what a little snuggle bunny your Shasta is! Just crack open a fresh can I say, food is medicine! I wouldn`t dare tell you how much I spend on food, haha  Hope she did well today! -Alexa

Re: 8/30 Shasta PMPS=289; +1=300; +2=151; +3=117

She's definitely a snuggle bunny...when she wants to be! She was just using my shoulder as her pillow from her perch on the back of the couch! Love my little munchkin!

Her appy was/is ok tonight. After her PM injection, she wouldn't eat her dinner. Not even a lick! I was afraid of this...she got used to having her Friskies mixed in (even just the tiny teaspoon I would add) and now that I'm not adding it...she doesn't want any. SNOTTY CAT! Sad, but true, holding the bowl to her face works. Well, I got her eating and she finally finished her dinner and then I gave her some of her left overs from earlier to day. She's nibbled and eaten and now napping!

Thanks for popping in on us today/tonight! We'll catch up on everyone's condos this weekend. Time to grade papers. :YMSIGH:

How about a snack to slow down the drop?

I'd think about getting a few cans of Fancy Feast high carb food. It's small cans, so less waste.

Re: 8/30 Shasta PMPS=289; +1=300; +2=151; +3=117

Hi Sienne,

She started snacking after her +3 poke. She's a +1 diver and I'm sure I could give her mid-carb or high-carb to slow down the dive, but I thought I wanted her in the blues and greens. Am I wrong? Or should I be doing something different?

As for the FF high carb, I do have some. I just use the Friskies because I KNOW she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES it. I imagine she'd like the FF, but at those rare moments of slight panic...I grab what I know will work. I literally have a little/lot of every level carb food! haha...FF low/high, Friskies low/mid/high, and Wellness low/mid. :-D I should have been a Girl Scout!

Please advise if I ought to be doing something different.

Re: 8/30 Shasta PMPS=289; +1=300; +2=151; +3=117; +4=122

I worry about the day when I have to open a friskies with gravy can.
That's what mine used to eat every day.
As much as she dislikes the evo, or wellness or merricks, if she gets to lick one of her old friskies can some day in the future.
She's really going to look at me like,
Why are you holding back on the goodstuff??

Good numbers today for Shasta.
and if she can just continue this after you are home for the weekend and earn a reducie :-D :-D
We need Shasta to practice her timing for her mamabean.

Re: 8/30 Shasta PMPS=289; +1=300; +2=151; +3=117; +4=122

Nice day for Shasta! They are little stinkers sometimes. We use the FF gravy in the 3 oz cans. My kitties don't do reheated food. Picky pants. Have fun grading papers and have a great night!

Re: 8/30 Shasta PMPS=289; +1=300; +2=151; +3=117; +4=122

It took us forever to figure this out but the primary goal is a flat cycle. Then once it is flat, you adjust the insulin to get it to the blues and greens. You can't stay in the blues and greens for the whole cycle when there is a big difference between the high and low. Dives cause bounces so if you feed a dive, you can flatten the cycle by not going as low and then by reducing the following bounce. That is my interpretation what Sienne is advising but it's only worth $0.02.
