Ripley is doing great today.
She seemed to be feeling slightly punk last night (on the punk scale, only a 3 out of 10, to being the punk-est). But I think it was a little warm in our house. I went to say goodnight to her while she was sleeping on her rocker, and she gave me a "leave-me-alone" look; so, of course, I didn't ~ and she lifted a paw as if to threaten a swat. Then I left her alone.
When I was getting ready for bed, she jumped into the tub and squawked for water, and drank some.
Then she went to the linoleum in the kitchen and sprawled out there for about a half hour. Must've felt cool on her little old body. Poor girl. I wish we had central heat and air. (Maybe DH will read Ripley's condo today... ;-) )

But today she's back to normal. Slurping her fuds, checking on Marley's empty food bowl every now and then to see if any kibble carb bombs have magically appeared. :lol: Silly girl.

OT: Today is day 2 of major classroom cleaning and preparing for the new school year. It's an intense couple of days, but love it. It's so nice to get everything ready for my kiddos! (I teach 24 3- to 5-year olds, preschool/kindergarten age.) I hope to visit some condos later... Enjoy your Friday, all!

PS: Thanks for the visit last night, Mariko. I've been meaning to get a video or recording of Ripley's squawks ~ I should get on that :-D

I could not agree more on the FDMB calendar, TGIF!, and the OTJ bonanza. All AWESOME!

Bummer on Ripley's Punk day, glad that is over. I guess kitties have them too, just like us hoomins. It is so nice that Ripley is back to being herself today. YAY! LOL: always looking for those carb-bombs huh.

Happy clean day, happy school is almost ready to start day. Enjoy the time.

Nice green AMPS today Ripley! Poor girl. That heat takes a toll. We couldn't survive without central AC and all the fur kids have their own special vents. It's like a mad dash when they hear it turn on.

Hi Josie. Glad that Ripley is feeling better. She probably was feeling warm. Our kitties don't like to be bothered if they're hot. They just want to lay on the tile.

It sounds like you really love your job. I think a teacher of children at that age have a huge influence on them. Your class is fortunate to have a teacher that is so dedicated. My DGD wants to teach the kindergarten to 4th grade age range also. She's attending the University of Houston and can't wait to start her career.

Sorry Miss Rippers was not feeling herself yesterday :sad: I know when summer comes around mine are in the air conditioned house much more. Especially in the middle of the hot day. How exciting your school year is getting under way. And that has to be a great age to teach. Good luck with the cleaning and have a Great Day Josie ;-)

Hmmm.... I think Ripley might still be feeling a little off. Her appy is just ok, and she keeps taking breaks from eating to go lay down. It's a cool morning, so heat isn't a factor. She gets like this only about once a month or two, so we'll just wait it out. But it still makes me nailbite_smile .

She peed this morning (one of her famous Public Displays in the LB) and poo'd last night, so her digestion is working well. Something's making her fell uncomfortable. I so wish our kitties could talk!

DH is off work today, so I'm sure he can keep an eye on her in between his errands.

Hi, Michelle :-D Ripley's punk feeling is back, but hopefully very temporary. Ripley is always looking for Marley's kibble. He likes to share, so that doesn't help :roll:. Silly animals. It's an exciting time on the board with all of the OTJ-ers!!

Hi, Melissa :-D Our kitties (and drooler) run to the a/c wall units when we turn them on :lol: . Good thing they know where to find the cool air! I love that your furkiddos each have their own vents. Smart!

Hi, John :-D I do love my job ~ teaching for 17 years at the same school :-D . I'm so excited that your DGD wants to teach! :-D :-D

Hi, Pam :-D We usually have a good routine for keeping our home cool in the summer ~ close the blinds by a certain time, don't use the oven, etc, but sometimes the heat beats us (rather than the other way around). I love the age group of my students. They're so sweet, and love hugs and snuggles, they love to sing, and best of all: they are so funny!! Thanks on the cleaning ~ it's a lot of work, but is so rewarding when my classroom is finished and sparkling.

I hope Ripley is feeling better this evening. That's so cute she keeps checking Marley's dish for leftover kibble. :lol:

Ripley just got her AB dose, crushed in some chicken baby food. She licked the whole bowl clean. :-D
Now she's preening. :-D
