Mama made sure the civvies ate all their lunch today so there wasn't any for Miss China to get into!! That pretty much confirms my theory that the 108 yesterday was from the Friskies that the civvies had for lunch (and evidently didn't finish)

It's a dark and stormy afternoon today....perfect for kitty snuggles, but I'm going to have to wake her up soon to get her exercise session in today. I'm really hoping she loses enough this week to hit that first pound of weight loss...I'd feel like we were really getting somewhere!! She'd have to lose 4.2 ounces this week to get there....a lofty goal but doable!

Of course after that first pound, there's still another 5-6 to lose so this is going to take a long time :(

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday and your kitties are feeling great and surfing pretty!!

Quite a bit of exercising in the future

Yeah and that part worries me....I know it's helping because I can see her BG go down a few hours after exercise and she is losing weight, but she's also getting bored with the toys I have and there's nothing else out there to try. I've literally spent hours and hours searching for something "new" that might interest her enough to chase

I would have sworn tonight's shot was furshot....guess not!! China....be a good girl and just paddle around right about there....no going out and teasing the sharks tonight, OK?

Have you looked for toys on eBay? My mum showed me one called the Fling-ama-string. It's quite expensive though and doesn't really encourage exercise, I'd just never seen it before.

Hopefully you can find some new entertainment (and weight loss) objects for China.

China, listen to your bean and stay safe tonight!

Have you tried carrying her to the opposite side of your home at meal time and setting her down so she has to walk the furthest possible difference to get her food? At each meal? Just a thought. Every step counts, I have found.

Nothing wrong with her numbers - golly, am I jealous!
:D

Yeah, she follows me around the house quite a bit as it is.....the problem is my house isn't that big!! Doesn't take that many steps to go from one side to the other

I wish I could send her down to the basement....and make her climb back up them to get back into the main part of the house....the problem with that is she loves being in the basement and would just stay down there rolling in the dirt and cobwebs .....and I can't go down there to drag her back upstairs because with my back problems and how steep and thin my stairs are, it's not safe for me to go up and down them....have fallen down them a few too many times to try that again!....of course me going down and dragging her back up wouldn't give HER any exercise anyway!!....LOL

Fling-ama-string

That's a new one...they have them on Amazon too...she might like that but you're right....it doesn't really get her moving....just her paws....but that would be OK....any kind of movement burns more calories than just sleeping does!

What about a laser pointer? Mine go crazy for the red dot!

My kitties love this toy too...

She has no interest in chasing the red dot at all....I keep trying and she just looks at it for a minute and goes back to sleep...I think she doesn't like it because she can't "feel" anything when she tries to catch it

I did just order a laser that has a mouse picture....hoping maybe if it's something bigger than a "dot", she may take more interest

She's got something like that Cats Meow...the problem is she catches the wand so quickly and then just sits on it...kind of makes the game short and sweet that way.....LOL

Oh my goodness, she doesn't make it easy for you

No she sure doesn't! I think I've spent more money on various cat toys than I ever spent on my kids toys!!

Her favorites are still Da Bird and the Jackson Galaxy Ground Prey toy but I can tell she's getting bored with them...she used to chase them to the point of panting.....now she stops caring after a little while and just watches me try to get her interested again :confused:

Love this cycle, China! Chris, you are very diligent with your exercise program for China! Bubba didn't have any interest in the laser dot at first he scared the Bejesus out of him and he'd run. Every now and then he will play with it now. China is doing great on her Feline Weight Watchers program! :D
