Good afternoon,
last night we saw the first blue numbers since one week. Quite happy about this!
Today she is bouncing and flat pink.
We didn't go to the vet today. She let me check her wound on her leg in the morning and there is a scab on top and no liquid. As she is taking antibiotics, I hope it will be fine. It doesn't feel good not to have a plan what to do about it but seems that's how it is now.
Today is day eight on the antibiotics and she seems to do much better. That excessive licking on her private parts stopped so I think she is not in pain any more. After the first days with diarrhea her digestion is back to normal. Yesterday and today have been the first days without hiding.
My vet told me to give the antibiotics for 10 days but I am worried that this is enough. The current guidlines for pyelonephritis say 10 to 14 days. I will write her an e-mail if I shouldn't continue for four more days.
Think I found the antibiotics she can take in case of a re-infection or if this antibiotic was not enough. There is a product in Switzerland and so far it seems, we can import it but the vet has to do it. Makes me feel much better to have options.
So I am far more optimistic than in my last update.
I hope all of you are well and have a good start in the weekend!
