Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa), and Happy Catmint Caturday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Kitteh barista, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for business! They are running a Caturday Catnip special today, in honor of Catmint Caturday - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese. So stop by Mannie's treehouse and get some pies! I have been to the vetty, BUMMER! but I survived. it was NOT FUNS. They poked and put things in places that i did not like, but I remained true to cat-ism, and remained stoic. Mannie always showed them! he'd pee on the vetty. He always had the last laugh.. hehheeheee. And then his BG would go way down.... Hmmmmm I wonder what my BG is. Maybe my bean will check. so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... It is my bean's fav! SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, and a great week. The days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Will it ever? ;-) What a BUSY week! Truth be told, I prefer it that way. :-D   We have been swimming, and hiking, and to beaches, and urban parks. We have had lunches on the river, car camping some too, and on grassy lawns picnic style. These days are wonderful ones. I love it when Nicholas says: I have had the best day grammie. Me too little man! Life is good! :-D :-D :-D

Wednesday and Friday, were our swimming days this week. Nicholas still loves going, and continues to do well in the pool. He's adjusted well to the summer schedule, and not having alot of access to any deep water. He's been making lots of new friends when he goes. it's fun to see him concoct up with Salomone when he gets there. We did not swim Friday night, since the boys and their mom and dad were off to the mariners baseball game. Nicholas so loves those games, and all he can do their: watch the trains pass by the stadium, eat some really good fuds (chocolate covered strawberries on a stick really rock!), work the baseball slides, visit the dugout, AND watch some great baseball. Last night was also fireworks night. They put on a nice show after the game. William usually does well with these games too, though he often sleeps through alot of the night games. But... he claps and cheers and laughs through alot of it too. Swimming went well this week too. We are getting closer to the end of summer pool scheduling, which I am so looking forward too. I believe Nicholas is too. Come September I will be able to spend much more time with William in the pool, when Nicholas enters a 2X/week pre-school type experience. When he goes to school, William goes to the pool. I am really looking forward to this, as it is more than apparent from a few previous visits, and times spend on the rivers, that William will love the water as much as Nicholas does. Nicholas and I will continue to swim on Friday night, as he so loves that experience, at a pool that is not his normal pool. They have been very fun times for him. We are still trying to "convince" Nicholas that swim lessons would be great, but he is adamant that he does not want to do them. silly boy! ALl in good time. In the meantime I teach him what I can, and marvel at how well he does on his own. GO NICK! GO WILLIAM!

Nicholas still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast too. That is just so fun: burgers and fries, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. Since we did not swim Friday night, I ended up bringing it all for his lunch. That was fun. He was so happy to see that burger and fries combo show up for lunch. Somehow I think that is part of the magic of Friday night swims: that he gets burgers etc after his swim. Yesterday we again talked pool closures, as well as all our berry hunts, swimming in the rivers, and this weeks visit to an urban river. He was really into that discussion, as we had spent the day swimming in it, with the ducks. He also talked alot about summer swim schedules, and the changes coming this fall. He and his family are off to go camping for a few days next week, so we talked alot about that. He is so excited. LOL: he gets to sleep in a tent. What fun time, talking through mouthfuls full of burgers and fries.

Nick's Pics continue!. He still loves the camera, takes them from time to time. this week he wanted to take a few of the pool interior, and also some from his hike on the Sammamish River.   It has been fun to see what he chooses to take photos of. Last week I wrote about an infection he has/had on his arm. He has a case of molluscum contagiosum, basically a viral wart thing, common with young children. it runs it's course for approximately 12/18 months, then disappears. He's into about month 12. Well somehow he managed to get a secondary infection in one of them, probably through scratching, and that darn thing swelled up, looked so sore, so off the to DR for him. He haddled the visit realy well, even all that poking and looking and lancing, etc. no tears until they went for a good sample to find the best AB. Poor kid! Anyways, he is taking his meds well now, once we found a good way to get that foul tasting stuff into him. Nutella mixed with it really works well! The arm has greatly improved, and is healing nicely. It still is little sore, but is really healing well. GO NICK!

Monday was a hiking day for me. I was out early, and not back til late.... I-) I was out the door at 5AM, did not make it back until 6 or so... a long day! I went to Mt Rainier, and hiked the Naches Peak trail out of the Sunrise area of the Park. The hike was excellent, that one is a keeper. it is one that I have done in the past, and more than likely will do again. It is part of the PCT trail, and by that nature, a very pretty one. Nice views all around. Rainier looked great! I did one of the Spur hikes too, well actually it is the continuance of the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail, a through hike that originates in California) through Dewey Lakes. WOW, that was beautiful. Never done that part before, sure glad I did today. I alwyas find it kind of exciting to think that i'm hiking that trail, it is legendary, and passes through some of the most scenic parts of Washington. When I awoke yesterday morning I had originally intended to hike Cutthroat Pass in the North Cascades (Primo sutff!), but the weather was a 50/50 deal, with alot of clouds predicted. Cloudy and 85/90. so.... knew I'd want a sunny day so I could see what one goes there to see, especially after driving 3 hours just to get there: those panoramic views of some very nice mountains. I elected then to postpone Cutthroat Pass until next week, and headed to Mt Rainier instead. Rainier was sunny, nice temp at 65/70, and GORGEOUS! anyways - had a really nice time, great weather, wonderful views. Can't get any better than that. :-D   The drive there and back, my mini road trip, for the week, was also very nice, with great views in the park!

Tuesday was my social day. WOOT!!! I met with my son Anthony for breffis. We still go every other week,to a nice Pancake type place that serves lots of very good food. It is nice to be able to do that: get togetehr and catch up on what is new. The restaurant is a great place: any kind o breakfast food you can imagine, and it is all good. and lots of it! I always end up going home with a doggie bag.  Later that day I met with my friend in Seattle for coffee. It was a sunny warm day there then so we took or brews outside to one of the courtyards across the street. That was nice, very pleasant way to spend an hour, talking and catching up.

Wednesday, after swimming, we went to Juanita Beach. The weather was great, the afternoon was turning into a warm afternoon, like 89 (!!), so off we went! We did all of what he goes there for. Lots of play, and it was warm enough that he could swim in the water. He had such fun with that. I had also brought a pair of swim trunks for William, so he was able to really get in the water, and play as much as he wanted. He continues to love the very small waves, and had a blast. Nicholas was there to show him the ropes, and to introduce him to building beach lakes and rivers. Nicholas would start one, William would come in and mess it all up. Earlier another group of kids had dug this large hole in the sand, maybe 4 feet across and about a foot deep, which they had filled with water. OMG: that was a magnet for William. His own private little muddy sandy swimming hole. SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH!   WHAT FUN! WHAT A MESS he was after that.   They both were! William has really developed a fondness for it all, he just gets so excited when he sees the parks, the beaches, the rivers, He is so very much like his brother when he was that age. He just loved it. Nicholas did a very good job too oh keeping his "owie" on his arm clean, making sure he didn't bury it in the sand  I had put four layers of band-aids etc on it in an attempt to keep the sand out. It worked! YAY! We also had a small picnic after our beach and park time. All around - really a terrific day. I bet both those boys slept well that night. AWESOME time at the beach.

Thursday was road trip day. We went to the Sammamish River, a local river hike/walk near Redmond. It was the best place for weather, as alot of the mountain places were go to were developing a cooling trend, with rains predicted. This urban walk worked well. It too has river access, come very nice of trail spots where the boys could explore and visit the river, it also has a ton of ducks, so we spent time too feeding them. Love those ducks! These guys would walk right up to Nicholas and take the food out of his hand. Nicholas wanted to wade in the river, so he did, played there a bit with the ducks. He finally came out, saying "This is kinda COL"  The rst of that time was spent throwing rocks with William. William I kept at rivers edge, as it was not as beach friendly as come of the other ones. I had to be somewhat careful too, as bird droppings were everywhere.... We had a picnic lunch at rivers edge. That always is such a nice time: lunch on a river, even when it is an urban one. I so love those orad trips - it is alwyas such entertainment coming form the back seat, what I always call the Many Faces of Travel

Friday afternoon, after swimming, we spent some time with their Grammie Connie. The boys alwyas have a good time there, love her house, and exploring new places. It was a fun, relaxing time, after a morning in the pool. Home we went after that so the boys could nap, and be ready for a long nght at the ball game. Nicholas slept, as we all know that swimming is hard work! William however did not. He wanted to play. I had placed him in his portable crib that is his away from home bed, and kept hearing this "Oh oh!"  Seems he was busy tossing everything out of his bed, and whatever else he could reach onto the floor. Each toss was an OH OH!   Too funny.

I am sitting here this morning, just like last week, trying to think what to write about the kitties.... and just like last week, thinking alot too about Mannie, and all the adventures he planned to for all the LL kitties. I so miss those days, and the fun, and relief from all the FD and the stress that comes with it. yesterday was an interesting day in that Nicholas wanted to talk about Mannie. It is amazing and wodnerful on how much he remembers about Mannie. They were during his first two years inseparable, and the best of friends. He talked about all the things they did, from the nanners, to the food shares, to the play, to the home testing (he was my assistant, knew that the BG's meant, how to work the meter, etc), to the sleeps together, and Mannie's Garden. He knows that Nannie now lives in his garden, and that his kitty at home, Serval, has gone to play with Mannie there (Serval passed a few months ago). What an awesome discussion, and remembrance on Nicholas's part. he says near the end of this talk: " I miss him Grammie, but he is happy. Don;t worry, 'K?" How cool is that? The rest I wrote last week, but all of it continues to be true. More so on the things about Bug and Nicholas. "The kitties are doing well here, all three of them. The last three days that Nicholas has napped here, I have found Bug sleeping, or watching, just outside of Nichoals's door, on the threshold. To me, that was huge. Could it be that Bug may take over where Mannie left off? I always swore that Mannie and Nicholas were bonded, inseparable, perhaps his feline GA is making sure all will be well. I always felt that Mannie sent Bug to us. They are just so much alike. Lola continues to be Lola, wild crazy fun Lola. Still the ultimate escape artist. She loves the outdoors, it has been hard to keep her inside. Our escape artist continues to try and get out. After having a few hours out there she has decided that it was PRIMO (!!!!!) and tries every chance she gets to sneak on through that opening, when anyone goes in or out. She even paws at the door, with what I swear is an "open PLEASE" chant.  She is relentless. ah Lola....never ever a dull moment with you. :-D  Our resident escape artist has perfected her skills. FOUR times last Wednesday! Outside at all costs, in her opinion.        :-x         DH comes home, and I hear him outside talking to some one. I should have known,... he walks in with Lola in the crock of his arm, and says" "were you missing someone?" I had no clue she had done it again. :? :? :? She's getting good! On the plus side, he says she was just laying on the porch, which is under my "office" window, sunning herself. No wonder I kept hearing this kitty outside with this sweet meeeee-ooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww. I never occurred to me it was Lola.    OMG! Well, catio prep has been bumped up on the list! Elsa is still dong well, darn active for an almost 18 year old. She sleeps alot, but what the heck: part of being a cat. She continues to be a very good lap cat of late: nice! With the warm weather she has been out in the yard alot. Lola is SO JEALOUS!!, and lets me know it whenever she sees Big Sis out in the yard. It is interesting that Bug just doesn't seem to mind that all. He is more than content to be a house cat. Kitties are good, and All are sound asleep as I write this.... Stay good kitties!" Normalcy in MusketeerVille! cat_pet_icon

VETTY NEWS: Bug went in to have his anal glands expressed. I knew it was time again, as he has been, the past week, scooting ALOT. They were full, and much to his dismay, they are now empty. ;-) It appears that he will be one of those kitties that will need to go in every 3/4 months to have them expressed. Poor Bug! Better that though than the possibility of impaction, Elsa's initial exam went well. She shows no outward signs of any problems. it was noted that she now has a gallop heart rhythm, though I can't say for sure that this is new. This was the first time that it was detected. Mannie has one too, his was that way for years. Going forward I will consider an echo for her, should it become apparent that there are other issues developing with her heart. We wait now for her BW to come back, and see what it will tell us. The vetty and I discussed dental, as she does need one, but I am very reluctant to put an 18 year old under anesthesia, especially now that she may have a heart issue. So we will explore other options to try and clean up her teeth some. The vetty agreed with me, and also told me that if I decide to do a tradition dental she would use only the bare minimum of anesthesia, if the BW will allow it, and the heart seems OK. Well, other options first. Last years senior exam revealed slightly elevated renal values, so I am curious to see how they are now. She has been there before, and a diet change three/four years ago corrected that. Hopefully, if they are elevated we can go back to what we did them to help her out in the kidney area. All in all, a good visit for my 18 year old senior gal. GO ELSA, you so totally rock! .

Have a great day everyone! Enjoy your Caturday. The laundry almost done, vetty done, the rest of the day is free!   I hope that later today I will be able to walk the trail here, to the shore, but we have a 60% chance of rains today, and temps remain in the mid 70's. Maybe I will get a rain/weather break. Paws crossed!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY CATURDAY LL

As usual, it is exhausting listening to your week! I hope Nicholas's arm continues to improve. Kewl on Bug standing uh sleeping guard over Nicholas! Mannie is definitely sending him directions!

Tess says she'll drive up in the Furrari to pick up some pies! (Emma says she'll stow away and she and Lola can take off while Tess is busy getting the pies!)

I hope you have a chance to get out today!

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY CATURDAY LL

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) And THX on Nicholas's arm. What an ordeal that has been, but he is doing well, and does what he needs to do to get it to heal. We are almsot there. YAY! I think so too on Bug: he is so like Mannie, in so many ways. The watching over Nicholas is so nice to see. THX on today, that is the plan! just swatting on the vetty to call so I can pick up Elsa, she had to stay for an hour or two so they could get all those SR tests done. I am sure she is not a happy camper.
EMMA! COOL, BFF! I shall be waiting. I have Mannie's roadster hidden behind the trees so we have wheels! OOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Yes! this will be an awesome day. Stow away well, 'K? SEE ya soon! ~~ Lola

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY CATURDAY LL

Glad to hear Nicholas is doing better, hugs and scritches to poor Bug and Elsa, and also Lola! What a bummer if you went to last night's Mariner game? :? Rain and a big loss?? Hope you are able to get out this weekend and that this change in weather will cooperate with your plans!

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY CATURDAY LL

HI everyone! ~O) ~O) ~O)

Vetty UPDATE: I just brought Elsa home, and she is no worse for wear. She had to stay a bit so they could run all the tests they need to do for a complete SR wellness package, including X-Rays. All looks great. Way to go Elsa. BW ad UA should be in by Tuesday. Bug has been incredible. He knew he went to the vetty with her, knew he came home without her, and has been howling the last four hours. WHERE IS SHE???? Now that she is home he is following her everywhere, just to make sure all is well. If by chance she is out of sight back to the howling. How cool is that? ;-)

Morning Ruth ~O) ~O) ~O) THX! Nicholas truly is doing better. Soon to be done with all of this. Paws crossed! :-D I guess Nicholas and family lucked out at the Mariners Game - they said weather was good, and they still had the fireworks show. Amazing how a mere e 20 miles can make such a difference in weather. we were windy and rainy here too! THX on today. It's cloudy right now, sure hope the rains will hold off for a couple of hours. I am about to head on out and test my luck. :-D :?

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY CATURDAY LL

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY CATURDAY LL

I'm glad Nicholas' arm is doing better and things went well at the vetty for Bug and Elsa. I hope you get good b/w results back for Elsa. How sweet that Bug was looking for Elsa.

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY CATURDAY LL

Happy Saturday evening everyone! I hope everyone has had a good day. Things are back to normal here. Elsa is so glad to be home. Bug has not left her alone, follows here everywhere! :-D  What a sweetie he is. She was a little loopy when she got home, from the tiny bit of sedative that she got so they could get X-rays, urine etc. It is interesting that even in the mildest of sedatives she felt the effects for hours afterwards. Another reaffirmation for me that putting her under for a dental would not be a good thing. I will have to come up with another alternative. anywyas - she has eaten, and she and Bug are napping, side by side. What a "big brother" he is being. Way to go bug! The rest of the day I worked don laundry, and managed to get in a walk to the shore here at Meadowdale, through the woods. The weather has been hit and miss, but I went anyways, it was nice just to get out.

Enjoy your evening LL!! There is an Indiana Jones Marathon on TV. I may just have to sit and watch some of that. Love Indy!

Hi Carla ~O) :-D THX on Nicholas - me too! Another sigh of relief on the vetty visit. Bug's was easy, Elsa's I ave been putting off. baring any unforeseen on the BW and UA, she is doing darn well. HOORAY!!! I thought so too on Bug, he rally has such a tender heart, gentle soul. He is really a great kitty.

Hi Ann ~O) :-D It sure seems like he does! It was a surprise to see him carry on so over Elsa. He wouldn't shut up until he saw she was home. Now he is sticking to her like glue. What a good kitty!
Tess! THX! I really stink, nasty vetty smell, and so need the KTSS. They si the BEST! Bug tries, but he doesn't have the special stuff. He wants to know if he can help with the KTSS. I told him sure, they always can use help! Hmmmmmm.... the roadster seems to be missing too! oh oh...... LOLA!!!!!!!!!!!! cat(2)_steam ~~ Elsa
Hey Tess, ok..... we will bring it back. we was just racing ya know. Emma said the Furrari was mega fast and I said the roadster could hold it's own, and well..... ya know..... we is done now, and no worries. We didn't crash or nuthing's, all is well. be there in a jiff, 'K? ~~ Lola, and Emma

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY SUNDAY LL!

Good Morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (YUM! I Love coffee!), and Happy Sunday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! Coffee is on, Lola and Bug , founders of Paw Prints Pizza, are ready to go! Want pizza? it is MEGA GOOD! They are busy getting ready for.... uh.... I dunno! but there sure is a flurry of activity in the kitchen. so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. For my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....... and orange drizzle! SWEET OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

Morning everyone! Or is it afternoon.... confused_cat   I hope your day is a good one. I was out early today, to walk the beach and shoreline at Picnic Point. This seems to have become my Sunday morning thing. We were fairly wet this morning, but at least the rains had stopped by the time sunrise came about, so off I went. I probably would have gone anyways. There wasn't much color to the sky this morning, some but not much, but that was OK. the walk was a good one. I think I did maybe 4 miles. I also got the grocery shopping done too, so good to go for the week. It will be an odd week here, as Nicholas and William are on vacation with their mom and dad, and I will not have them this week.   I may go into withdrawal.... Their family will be off for a short camping trip, somewhere on the Washington coast. Good for them! It will be so nice that mom and dad can have a week with the boys to do whatever they choose. I hope to fill the week with some extra hike trips. Sure hope the weather cooperates! paws crossed, big time, for them, and for me. :-D

Normalcy in MusketeerVille! Elsa seems to have survived her vetty visit, and all is back to normal this morning, She is eating, playing, preening and doing all the things she would normally do. I have been looking at dental products for cats, and might give EFAC a try, it is a topical application, to the guns, that has good reviews. it is worth a try, so I can avoid doing the traditional dental for her. I do believe that she will not handle the anesthesia well, so... maybe this will help her. I also have some C.E.T. AquaDent that I will resume using, I'm not convinced that that product made much of a difference, but who knows... maybe this time it will be different. I used it alot with Mannie, being an FD kitty, his teeth etc were awful. anyways.... Elsa is doing GREAT this morning, Bug is satisfied that she is OK, and has cut back on his watching over her. Such a sweetie he is. and Lola?            @-) She has been busy: left me a gigantic furball this morning, which I promptly stepped in when I got up, and all the pukus that came with it. She has uncanny marksmanship, and my feet always find these magnificent prezzies. She spent alot of time last night walking the stairwell rails... oh boy.... I'm glad she has incredible balance, as that whole thing of hers makes me nervous. back and forth, over and over again, with a few stops along the way to nibble on the plants that hang there. Lola will always be Lola. What an awesome cat she is. Normalcy in MusketeerVille!! cat_pet_icon

Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend LL! HAVE FUN!

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY SUNDAY LL!

Good luck w/ the EFAC, we use a similar product for Emma 1-TDC. You can get either o Amazon. I haven't see a real improvement in Emma's stoma titis, but it hasn't gotten worse, so who knows. If she already has tatar it won't remove that though.

Brushing is really the best thing. Tess used to need dentals yearly util we started brushing. Now it's only about every 3 years. This video from Cornell is great.

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY SUNDAY LL!

Hi Ann :-D THX for the info. it's nice to hear from someone that has used a product similar to this we shall see how it goes, maybe it will help her,at least keep things from getting any worse than they are. I have heard of the 1-TDC stuff too, had some actually, but never used it on Mannie, as there were just so many issues with his health near the end, and then it expired. THX for the amazon info too, I did find some there, so YAY! I really should give the brushign thing try with Elsa. Who knows she may tolerate it better than I think she will. ;-) I appreciate the video link, that was is great! Look out Elsa, I have a toothbrush,.....

Re: 8/30 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, HAPPY SUNDAY LL!

Always lots of action in your condo, Michelle, it wears me out.  I'm glad that everyone is well. You definitely need that catio...

Re: 8/30-9/1 LOOSE LIPS! busy boys, the vetty, Tuna Tuesday

Good Morning LL ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (LOTS! I just love ~O) ), and Happy TUNA Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, kitteh barista pilot!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is TUNA TUESDAY!!! In honor of Tuna Tuesday, once again Lola and Bug, aka Paw Prints Pizza, will make their famous triple tuna pies, with tuna and nip infused crust, tuna toppings, and now triple tuna infused cheese. YUMMMMMMMM! It's tradition!, and these pizza pies totally rock! and as a side benefit we have TUNA WATER too! So stop ion by Manie's treehouse for some tuna pies. They are mega good. seriously, they are. so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... OH! forget it... no tuna mochas. BLECH!

Good Morning LL!! And Happy Tuna Tuesday to everyone. I am sorry I missed everyone yesterday.... Monday was a hiking day for me. I was out early at 5AM, and not back til late at 7PM.... I-) @-)   and that left no time for the Board and condos. I missed you guys! I rarely travel on holiday weekends, as the traffic here can be so challenging. but... of the days available Monday was the most favorable as far as the weather goes, so I took a chance and headed on out. :-D :-D :-D It has been a longggggggggggggggggggg one here. It was 7 hours on the road yesterday, sheshhhh... 3 hours over, 4 on the way home. I really do love that drive on SR 20, aka the North Cascades Highway, especially when one gets into the Rainy Pass, Washington Pass and the haripin turns area. it is incredibly gorgeous there. unreal gorgeous. The traffic itself actually went rather smoothly, considering it was a holiday. coming home went really well too. it took longer, mainly becasue there is always someone that messes up those two lane roads for everyone else. Some butt-head that was traveling way below the speed limit, and would not use the pullouts. He had us all in this ridiculous caravan. LOL: we all took turns passing him. HAHA! Despite that we still moved, it just took a long time. The rest was great, I5 moved. fancy that. I hiked the Cutthroat Pass Hike. The hike itself was great. wow, to die for scenery topside. This trail is another one that connects with the PCT topside. So that was my goal: to make the PCT connection, and explore some. Mission accomplished! I would have liked to have spent more time on the PCT, but by the time I relaxed some up there it was almost time to head back down. I did meet a few PCT through hikers. They were ecstatic: a few more miles to go and they would be at trails end in Canada. Cool. Anyways - wonderful views, nice hike. But it is long!!! Logged 12.5 miles today, climbed 1980 feet. At least the climb was gradual, so one didn't feel it too badly. As this week I do not have the boys (vacation week for their family) I hope to get in two more hikes before "Fall" officially gets here. The boys schedule will change alot come next week: more school days for Nicholas, and different swim days. So.... best get in what I can hike wise before the apple cart falls over.

Normalcy in MusketeerVille. I am still waiting on lab results for Elsa, hopefully those should be in today. The kitties are all doing well. Lola is still being Lola.... Two upturned plants and one "who knocked off that ceramic from the bookcase" moment. Crrrrrr-aassshhhhhhhhhhhhh! One less knick knack now.   Bug is being as affectionate as ever. Such a mellow dude, full of head butts and leg rubs, and "let me snuggle next to you, but please do not pick me up" moments. Go Bug! I can remember when Mannie was still with us, and I'd go hiking and how stressful it could be at times to be sure I was home in time for test-feed-shoot. Some of these distance hikes were a challenge and I'd always be rushing to make it home in time. Inevitably came those times when i was late. I'd walk into the door and Mannie, BJ and Elsa (this was before Lola and Bug), would all be waiting at the top of the stairs, right by the door entrance to the house. All there would be pacing. Mannie had this "YOU'RE LATE" dance he'd do. Bj would be hollering "WHERE"'S MY DINNER!!" and Elsa would be sitting there with "that look"   All three of them would produce this blood oath that I had signed way back on the occasion on my first home late, where I swore I'd never ever be late again, or pay the consequences. sheshhhh, they were tough! Last night was just like that, what with me being 3 hours late for dinner! DH had fed them, but they still knew I was late. There they sat, blood oath in their paws.....    Sorry kitties. somehow it all fits whit Normalcy in MusketeerVille! cat_pet_icon

Have a great day everyone! it is clean the house and the carpet day, along with a walk later on, maybe to the beach here. yahOO! Love the beach part, not so much the clean part.

Morning Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) I read your post the other day, meany to answer it then, but somehow I was distracted.... LOL on the action, but true! We do be busy! I so know on that catio.... Now that she has had a day whee she spent a few hours out, she knows it is one cool place out there. It is such battle when we have to leave to go anywhere. She is waiting by the door, and has gotten very good at sneaking out. ;-)

Re: 8/30-9/1 LOOSE LIPS! Elsa labs, BG 73!!! Tuna Tuesday LL

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share Elsa's labs. All came back GREAT! For an 18 year old kitty she is in incredibly good heath. The only "concern" is her creatinine and BUN. The creatinine was at 1.8, within normal range, but the good news is that it is the same as a year ago. The BUN was at 44, which is out of the normal range, with the top range being 36, but the good news is that last year at this time it was 52. so... whatever we are doing is working for her, and will continue as is. The diet she is on seems to be keeping this aspect of a senior cat in line. YAY!!!!!! OH! her BG was a glorious 73. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D  WAY TO GO ELSA!

Hi Michelle,
Wow, now I am caught up with your week. Did you say it was busy? The hike on Labor Day must have been fantastic. Great pics! I can well imagine how the traffic slows on those mountain roads when there is a slowpoke. We have that problem here, too, but not to the degree that you do. Neat that the boys can go camping with their parents this week. They will have a ball. Have they ever been to the coast? And it is also neat that Nick and William are baseball fans. I absolutely love baseball, too.

So enjoy your hikes this week and enjoy a rest day, too. It is wonderful that Elsa's labs came back so good.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. thanks for the pics and the description of the Missouri 340. Awesome!!

Yo Elsa, Bug and Lola,
Come visit me at Camp this week. OK?
~ Rust,

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) Happy Whiskers Wednesday. Elsa is brewing Ethiopian today, and says to epxect her shortly. That hike was awesome! 6800 feet topside, and views that were simply incredible. One could see alot of the North Cascades range - very nice! oh ye son that traffic! It was a challenge, as there are parts of that road that are winding, and no passing there. If only he would have let people pass... I think it is great on the boys camp trip too. Nicholas is so excited to be going! Got his beach gear all set too.  And he won't stop talking about sleeping in a tent. It should be an awesome trip for them. And yes, they have been once before. Last year they also went to the same camp ground, or maybe it was two years ago, since they didn't have William then. That trip went very well. oh yes on the Baseball - they have a set of tickets for the season. They don't go every game, but get in alot during the year. Both boys really enjoy the games. I am so relieved on Elsa's labs - she is doing very well! I'm glad you enjoyed the info ad pics from the Missouri 340. It is a very cool, and challenging race. I still can't believe that those guys did that race, no sleep. kudos!

Rusty! DUDE! We is coming!!!! I LUBS camp Stu. FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have our bags all packed, and are on our way! See ya! ~~ Elsa, Lola, and Bug

Re: 8/30-9/2 LOOSE LIPS! Elsa labs, BG 73!!! Tuna Tuesday LL

Woah! There is always a lot going on there. They all keep you running. It is finally September. I hope Nicholas enjoys his pre-school and William gets one on one time with grammie. Yay! Of course burgers are one of Nicholas's favorite times. Mine too. :-D Have a great week Michelle!

Re: 8/30-9/2 LOOSE LIPS! Elsa labs, BG 73!!! Tuna Tuesday LL

Nicholas os going to love the camping trip! Lots of stuff for the "old hand" to show "newbie" William.

Great news on Elsa's labs. For an 18 year old she is doing great and BUN isn't as important as the creatinine. How was her phosphorus?

Re: 8/30-9/2 LOOSE LIPS! Elsa labs, BG 73!!! Tuna Tuesday LL

Hi Melissa ~O) :-D LOL, and yes they do! I swear that sometimes I need roller blades.  Crazy, but so much fun. I KNOW! Can you believe that we have hit September? Nicholas is actually excited about going to "school". it's only 2X/week, but still he rally is looking forward to it. :-D ah yes on those burgers.... I so love that time! We both look forward to it!

Hi Ann ~O) :-D Yupp! He was so excited to be going camping, the tent, the beach, the S'mores, all of it. I can so see William hot on his heels throughout the whole thing. and mom and dad trying to keep up. THX on Elsa's labs. I am more than pleased with how she is doing,. All was so middle of the road: all the results, with the exception of the BUN. And that was down from last time. Her phosphorus was 5.3, that too, middle of the road. Awesome huh!

NI NI LL! Sorry I missed so many of you tonight, Sleep well, everyone!
