Nom, nom nom! Zener's app is good this morning (anti-jinx). He even came to my office at +1 and said it was time for a snack. So I asked him if he wanted to be tested on the filing cabinet or the footstool and he chose the filing cabinet. :lol: :cool: The roofers apparently didn't get quite done yesterday. Hopefully today. At least it's a couple of houses away.

The big news in Lantus Land is CD's new kitten, Mackie. You can see pictures and a video (with music, of course!) on FB. Shockingly, he's adorable. :-D Jasper is new to LL but probably won't be staying long. Tarragon was a wild man last night and had a nice blue AMPS to show for it. Rusty is still at Campu Stu having fun with his cousins. I'm not sure about all those carbs in the pizza and pancakes... OTJ trials for Tucker and Karre are going well. J.D.'s trying out a reduction. Paws crossed. Happy Friday LL!

ETA: Wendy & Neko & DH start their 3-day drive to CO for SRT next week. Front and back paws crossed for them.

Nice start for Zener today and GREAT NEWS on the appy! That is always a good report. So nice that he decided to let you test him so he could get his snack. Hope the roofers get done quick so the hood is quiet once again. Have a great day all!!

Hi Liz, nice report on Zener and especially with the appy, as I know that is always worrisome. I hope the roofers soon finish up their job. No yard patrol or poo inspection yet? Have a nice day

HI Liz.....how clever of Zener to come for testing. Must be yummy treats he gets. :-D It's so good to hear he's eating.
Boy, seems like that roofing's been going on forever, and I'm not the one listening to it. :smile:

@Lisa - Thanks for stopping by. Continuing to send healing vines to DBIL.

@Melissa - His appy became a normal cat appy a couple of weeks ago. We think it's because of his better numbers. Yay!

@Ann & Maggie - Anne is much better at poo patrol than I am. She did just report that Zener peed in the yard. :lol:

@Barb - yes, the roofing has been going on forever, at least since the hail storm in Sept 2011. Just about every house in the hood is getting a new roof.

@Marje - Yes, Zener did have a great day yesterday, hence the yellows today. :-D It is hard to keep up with EVERYTHING in LL - this is a busy place. :roll: :lol:

Thanks for the update. I didn't make it out to visit yesterday, so the updates are MUCH appreciated! :-D

Zener flashing some BLUE - looking GOOD!! Glad to hear his appetite is good today, too.

Nice that the roofers aren't very close, muffled roof noises are so much easier to deal with!

A mellow yellow start to tonight. We suspect Zener is enjoying the Olympic trampoline competition after yesterday's lovely green cycles.

@Libby & Hershey too - Liz loves writing the LL Gazette, once she has to go back to work 20 Aug, the reporting may be over for a bit. :sad: Lots of blue today with bits of yellow, so if this is a bounce it's not bad for our big guy. Looks like the roofers didn't quite finish today, rains rolled in this afternoon. It's just far enough away that it did not disrupt Zener's routine.

Chief Inspector Crapdash is not back in the swing of poo patrol, but jet jag is almost over. :razz: Not much patrolling to do today as deposits in the LB made things easy to find! :lol: We just had a shower, with thunder/rain and sunshine all at the same time. It was a brief shower and Zener is out on yard patrol as I type.

Last night's yard patrol was very exciting! We had our back patio door open, watching Olympics and letting Zener enjoy a little backyard time in the dark, very exciting! I saw what I thought were two black kittens at the back door, but then saw the telltale white stripe. :o It was two very young skunks. We made a racket and they toddled off toward the corner of the yard where Zener was perched on his bench. He didn't pay any attention to them, but we were trying to get him in without setting the skunk babes off. One of the babies hissed a little but no spraying. They were so darn cute! Then we got a little worried that they were in our yard without their mama, so we are hoping they are not little orphaned skunks.

We are at the two month mark on Zener's vial of insulin, so if we don't see the numbers come back down in another day, we will start a new vial. We've been getting between 2-3 months per vial, so it may be time. We hope everyone has a calm and drama free Friday night! Happy weekend! :-D

Nice, flat day for Z today. Sooo glad to hear how good his appy is these days (anti jinx!)!! I hope the baby skunks have MamaSkunk nearby. I can only imagine how cute they are! When I was a kid, my favorite cartoon was Pepe LaPew!!
