My daughter (the one who also has a cat named Larry) was a high school freshman when I found a tiny kitten crying, caught in the branches of a bush at the post office. My daughter named her "Bush Baby" but only the "Baby" part stuck! Daughter is 25 now ... I didn't realize Baby was that old!

That is Alice in my avatar. She looks so stern in that pic. DH calls it her mug shot.

aww, another larry! yea i didnt name him, but his name is cute for many reasons.
yea, the sternness is why i like the pic! cute.

I just saw that Mel has been away this weekend and thus not available to answer my question about not increasing Larry's dose. I also see you have been getting some mid-PM-cycle tests. What do you think, Mel? 12 days on 1.5U and with a couple aberrations in dosage and a few 100s, Larry is sitting in organ-damaging numbers. What do you think of a .25U increase?

We can try taking him up another .25 in dose. Honestly, I don't think any dose of Lantus is going to give him consistent decent numbers because of his reaction to the shots Pam is reporting.

He's good for testing but fights the shots and the higher the dose the more skin rippling and facial tics. Which I've personally seen in both of mine that were started on Lantus and disappeared once I switched them to Levemir.

IMHO Larry's insulin needs to be changed to one with a neutral base. Either Levemir or PZI because of how he fights the Lantus shots and Pam's own physical limitations is making it extremely difficult for her to consistently make sure he's getting full doses.

it makes me so sad to think of any organ damage :( i pay he is ok. i am going to post for input on levemir from every1. i jst want whats best for him.
his amps is great today! not sure what to think of larry.
the tics r bad still, however, and the skin moving at shot time....reminds me of horses trying to get flies off the skin.

This was Mikey 100% when he was on Lantus! I was giving fur shots at least once a week (if not more) because of the fighting at shot time. He also had the skin ripples and tics (not facial, but all over his body).

i know ecid but it sure sounds to me like the switch to levemir would be good for my kitty. i don't know what to do. i am stressing thinking i should switch him right away to levemir. pam i totally understand what you're going through.
