Looks like she earned another reduction to 0.10U! Congrats!

There is additional downward momentum when clearing a bounce. Did she get small meals through the day today?
 
Not really no, she was asleep for a lot of it and I was busy so was rather distracted; and as she'd been so high I wasn't expecting such a rapid drop!
 
She also had a big vomit this morning after breakfast so I wondered if the big drop was caused by that.
 
If she vomited her breakfast and got no food after, it's possible that she dropped without food. Food through the cycle may have prevented the drop below 50.

Is it safe to drop the dose again? I have to shoot her now, should I do one more at 0.25 and see what tomorrow holds?
 
I think you can take the reduction and see. It's possible that she is going lower at night and bouncing in the day.
 
Sorry I had to make a call so dosed her as usual. She was slightly lower (though allowing for test error not significantly) so fed her a gravy lovers to boost her through the night hopefully, will see what happens tomorrow. Also I have NO IDEA how to measure 0.10 of dose! I can barely gauge 0.25 using a syringe with
not even half markings!!
 
I looked at the link you posted of the cat who dropped down to a drop dose but I can't see the below normal bright green result which triggered the drop?

These photos are of syringes with half unit markings so not sure they are of any help!

There is another way to earn a reduction besides a drop below 50. If a cat stays in largely green (normal) numbers for a week, a reduction is earned.
 
I have been using as a measure (using 1 unit markings) the following:
0.25 = where the plunger is slap bag mid way between top and bottom markings. This may be actually lower than 0.25 but I couldn't see a more accurate way of eyeballing it. So I can't see a measureable way of less then this. Has anyone else figured this out that you know of using same syringes?

I can't work that out at all. There is no "actual size" option on my printer settings. I do not understand where it says" the measurement is to be taken in the middle of teh plungers rubber tip. The upper edge of the plunger tip corresponds to +0.1 to the printed value of the stripes." Huh?!
I am just trying to do the smallest dose I can where I can still see a bit of light above the plunger end. :(
 
Still really high, haven't seen consistent high numbers like this for ages, am worried we're going backwards :(
 
Other health issues can have an effect on glucose levels. How does Roxy seem to be behaving? When was the last time she had her teeth checked?
 
I can understand your concern. It's possible that she is taking her time to settle into this dose/clear the bounce because it's a really tiny amount of insulin she is on. Give her 6 cycles on this dose before you call it a failed reduction and take it back up.
 
I feel bad for her as she's obviously not feeling as good as she has been :( I feel really unconfident too about the dose, it can't possibly be accurate :(
 
still high again this morning.. how long do we put her through this, she must feel awful after such good numbers.. :(
 
Have you checked if there is any insulin in the syringe the way you draw it up? I guess there should be.
If you don't get better numbers tonight, take her back up to 0.25U tomorrow morning.

You might want to think about getting callipers to measure smaller doses.
 
I worked out a better way this morning I think. I get my previous dose set up, then twist the plunger until just a tiny drip comes out of the needle.
And re the vet, I am not putting her through that again. She is SUPER ANXIOUS and we had to get a home visit and it took her weeks to recover - that is how we got her diagnosed. I am sure it is just due to the drop to the very tiny dose. She is eating well and not acting strange. Just not as happy as she was a few days ago.
 
The higher numbers are either because she hasn't been getting any insulin or she is taking her time clearing the bounce on such a small dose.
Either way, I would have expected to see better numbers by now. This is Day 3 with numbers above 15.
 
Lower than she has been in the last 3 days! :-)
Still wonder if it's bouncing or it's the little insulin she got this morning with the change in he way you measured the dose!
 
Did you notice though that her 11.6 at 7pm was much lower than the 15.7 at 3pm? That was surprising as if it was the insulin, you'd expect it to be going up again by then, not down.
