Nice, quiet night for Harley. He kept in the blues all night long. This AM, shot regular time, 3.0u. Kind of a reduction from the fat 3.0. He has his vet appointment this AM. With all the stress of that, I expect he will rise.

That's a very nice AMPS this morning, Harley! You've got plenty of room to come down a bit into the :mrgreen: s today. Hopefully, you won't stress out too much from the vet. Some cats don't mind the vet, whereas others don't like it (Blackie doesn't like the vet, either). Hope you guys have a great day, and positive results at the vet.

so, you shot this morning at +10.75, and took back the 1 hour 15 mins you stalled last night. Correct?

Correct. I cannot get the counting right, even after reading about it.

Vet visit went well. Complete blood work and urinalysis. She said that he does not have any teeth problem and his breath did not smell to her. They will check for infection (urine) and if ok, and WBC high...they will then put him under and check teeth.
She said his weight is good - the same as last time. Mentioned his coat looks better than last time. More shinny and less flakes.

114/+3 b-4 vet visit, 95/+4 after vet visit.

Nice numbers for Harley.

Great vet report for Harley!! I always like to check BGs before and after to see what it does to him. Tarragon used to jump about 100 - 150 points. Now he stays the same. Guess he is used to going to the vet now.

Great numbers however keep an eye on him and if it looks like he is diving intervene a bit, if you are going to be around. If not, leave some meals in the timed feeder for him.

So, how did she determine that his teeth are OK?
Does his breath still smell to you?

Great news about his weight and his coat.

Harley is 55. I am going to wait 30 minutes and test. If he gets to 50, I am going to treat it was a 40 and give some HC food. With Harley, once he hits 50, he falls like a rock, and reaches the 30's in no time.

good that you know his patterns so well.

glad the vet visit went ok - it's always nice to hear they're looking better. i wish punkin would jump back on the grooming routine. my arms are spotless, but his own hair is greasy.

Hi guys .. glad to hear the vet visit went well .. These are some nice numbers for harley .. and I agree that it's nice you know his pattern so well .. at least you can try and keep him up a bit .. What do you think about surfing harley?

Bounce is here. PMPS 257. I was going to go down in units, but I think I will stay with the 3.0 for 2 cycles to go through it. He has had a GREAT ride though.

Vet just called about Harley. His labs were back and she said they looked fantastic. She will be emailing me the exact numbers but this is what she said.

RBC/WBC – within normal, no infection
K+ 4.1 – the best ever
132 – BS
10.51 urine concentration. She said this could indicate possible dehydration but because the BUN and creatinine were normal – no kidney disease. There was no glucose in urine or signs of infection. She wants me to add even more water to his food.

She did say this is the best labs that Harley has every had. I will report exact numbers once I get them.

flip_cat Way to go Pattie and Harley!

Stay with the 3.0u. You shot at +10.75 so I would indeed wait for a few consistent 12/12's before evaluating a decrease. Remember, shooting early is like an increase.
Also, you need to update your ss so the BGs correspond with the correct +hour. Since you shot this AM at +10.75,there is no way that 174 was at PM+11.5. And what was the # at AM+10?
I know it's a PIA (I did a lot of counting on my fingers at various times with BK - and still got it wrong sometimes!) but it's really important Pattie, especially if you shoot early.

Your mission is to not let Harley dive too fast or too low so that he (hopefully) wont have the big bounces. You want to get things smoothed out for him so that hopefully one day he may smooth out on his own. :-D
 
He did have a very nice run - Just about 48 hours with no pink.
He'll come back down. He always does (a little too far down!)
you can get some rest tonight.

In case you are thinking about R... ;-)
