Last week was very exciting with repeated PJ parties and reductions. Since I knew he was bouncing, I went to bed early last night with the hope that 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep would help me prepare for the week. From the testing I've done so far this morning, it looks like he may have cleared his bounce last night and will move again today. We will, of course, monitor closely.

I'll have to watch your condos because I see you just started EZ Complete yesterday with ground chicken. I did the same thing this morning. 3 out of 4 cats are happy. One, not so much.

Radar didn't eat very well today.... We don't know why. I suppose that he might know we are having a heat wave and it was 110 degrees outside today. He was inside the a/c but maybe the extreme heat bothered him??? I'm also wondering if maybe the tiny taste of EZComplete with chicken that he got yesterday bothered him?? Whatever the reason, we can't allow it to go on so we gave him mirtazapine. It should kick in about supper time.

Now it looks like he is still bouncing around so maybe I will get another good night of rest. That would be so nice as I'm really really tired in this extreme heat.

Yes. We will have to watch each other's condos and see what we can learn from each other. Radar loved his lick of the spoon I used to make the small batch. I made little hockey pucks of food and put them in the freezer to save for later. With Radar's sensitive tummy I am thinking I need to back up and give him a really tiny amount to start with rather than the 1/2 teaspoon I started with yesterday.

At least 3 out of your 4 cats are happy. There's always one isn't there? Have you been feeding raw already or is this their first experience with it? I found with Radar that he seems to be sensitive to the texture of new food. Some foods he won't even try because the texture is just "wrong". He looks at me and seems to be saying "THAT is just not food. Why did you put it in my dish?" Lol

It's my first time feeding raw. Late to the game, I say, because of their ages. Tanner, my 17 year old civvie, may have IBD, but no confirmation yet.

I had a silicone ice cube tray that makes skinny ice cubes that I froze. I weighed 2 4.5 onces pucks and froze them to hopefully use as a meal at some point. I still have a small baggie that is refrigerated while I try it out.

How sensitive is Radar's tummy? Is he like Keena where he eats then hurls?

Radar's sensitive tummy does not result in throwing up most of the time. The only things that cause an instant episode of barfing are things that are rich like gravy or venison. Sometimes he will exhibit the classic signs of nausea as in he wants to eat and licks his lips but backs away from the dish like it might bite him. Or he will do what I call dry heaving. He acts like he's going to throw up but nothing comes up. I know his tummy is upset when there is loud gurgling and churning I can hear when he sits in my lap. When I introduce a new food I have to proceed slowly and in tiny amounts and very gradually increase the amounts. He also tends to get diarrhea fairly easily. I suspect that it's related to food allergies. When I stopped giving him fish he improved a lot. When I started giving him canned foods like TikiCat which is just chicken in its own juices he improved a lot. The vet suspects IBD but I haven't yet done the expensive tests to confirm. When I started him on raw foods last fall he was finally ready to give it a try. I think I'd been trying to get him to try raw for 6 months or so before he'd even consider eating any of it.
