? 8/27 Trey's numbers looking good

Trey's numbers have improved the last 2 days. Yay. This morning I gave him only .5 units per vet instructions. Because his +11 is 101 I will not be giving him his pm shot.
My question is regarding him being weaned off of prednisolone. He has been on a 2.5mg dose every other day for 2 weeks. His last dose will be on Sat. Is it possible that his pancreas is now functioning better & that is why the numbers have improved ? Or is it because he has now been on Lantus for 11 days? Maybe combination of both?

Sorry I don’t know the answer to your question but it is SO exciting you’re seeing better numbers for Trey!

You might want to get a later test tonight, to make sure he is coming up.

The improving numbers could be from both reasons you suggested. Getting rid of pred will make a difference. Being on Lantus is giving his pancreas some time to heal.
