Yesterday's Loose Lips

The hurricane is on its way  We're getting lots of rain right now. Sometime tonight it'll be heavy rain and lots of wind and it's going to last until early Monday morning. I'm hoping the commute to work on Monday won't be too bad nailbite_smile

I posted some Squishy pics in a previous Loose Lips. I got a few more scanned into my computer today  See Squishy Merlin as a baby cat_pet_icon It was kind of hard to go through the photo album and remember all the times with Squishy  The album has pics of Squishy up to a year old. I'm sure more pictures were taken afetr that but I don't know where they went. One of these days I'm going to have to make one big album of Squishy, from his first day at home to his very last picture taken just a few hours before he went to the Bridge.

He was one cute kitty!!! I'm glad you have all the baby pics to remember him by!!

Thanks :-D It's kind of neat to go through the album and see how a cat grows up over the years. I have pictures of Leroy from when he just barely has his eyes open. Emma came from a rescue so I don't have any pictures of her as a baby.

I discovered a teeny round lump on Leroy's head near the base of his right ear  It's kind of solid. I can't really see what it looks like because of the fur growing on and around it but it's definitely not red or scabby. It could just be a healing cut from one of Emma's whacks to his head  I'm going to have to keep an eye on the lump. If it doesn't go away, Leroy will have to take a trip to Dr. B.

Your pictures are just precious. I love the baby basket picture and the one of him where he barely fits in it.

I wish I had more pictures of Maverick. Just two baby pictures and they are probably the day my parents picked him out at the shelter as a surprise for me. Today is the anniversary of the day he came into my life in 1997. I will post the pics tomorrow.

I bet the lump is probably from Emma and Leroy playing. If its hot or its losing hair I would call the vet. Is the cat condo still a hit?

I like those two pics, too :-D Squishy grew like a weed in 6 months :o Leroy's still on the small side and he's a year old now but maybe Abys are like that.

I think Squishy came home 14 years ago this past Friday. I remember it was late August and school started soon afterwards. We kept Squishy in the living room with the doorway barricaded with a piece of foam board (no door to close). That worked well for a few weeks until Squishy learned to jump over the board  Then he had free rein of the house, from basement to the attic.

Would love to see pics of baby Maverick

The lump is skin-colored so probably nothing to worry about right now. If it weren't so teeny tiny and covered in fur, I'd take a picture and send it to Dr. B for his opinion.

Both cats still love the tree :-D Leroy has pretty much claimed the very top perch for himself  Emma usually goes as far at the top of the tunnel.

Leroy and Emma seem spooked by the wild winds and rain outside  They were skittering everywhere earlier and Leroy was trilling at the top of his lungs . They've calmed down now. The worst of the storm is supposed to hit around early afternoon.

Love the pictures of your precious Squishy and his sister. I hope the lump is nothing.

Thanks  Molly moved away after a year. Squishy was bummed about it because he had no one to play with anymore and my parents would not let me get another cat. Even years after Molly moved away and after numerous other people lived upstairs, Squishy would still stick his paw under the upstair's front door hoping that maybe Molly would race down the stairs and pounce on his paw.

Precious pics of Squishy as a baby and this last pic of him looking for the paw almost made me cry. What a sweetie. He's still hoping for a paw from Molly. They really don't forget.

aw, loved the pics. my fav was the one in his baby basket too - well, trying to be in his basket but most of him on the windowsill. despite not fitting, he looks awfully content!

the story of him waiting for molly makes me teary too. cats are so human. if ya know what i mean.

for those of you who don't make it around to the condos - brent just got the diagnosis on friday that tigger has acro. he learned on wednesday that he's also iaa 60%. tough news for him, as you can imagine. he posted some adorable movies of tigger on friday or thursday too - ohmygosh - tigger as a kitty could make all his own fun without any help from his momma. here's the link with all of that news, and with the kitty movies: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=50855

here's his movies: http://hnkstr.com/Pictures/Tigger/Tiggers Bounce.wmv

Squishy would even sleep in that basket. Most of him would be hanging out the sides

They are. I don't know if Molly is still alive. Probably, though. She would be 14 now. Squishy is patiently waiting to pawsies again with Molly.

Great videos of Tigger

Hi Julie,

Thank you so much for posting an update on Tigger. I rarely get to any of the newer condos. I have trouble keeping up with just a handful. I looked for Punkin today but can't find his. The video's of Tigger made my day.

The storm is mostly gone :-D It's still windy out there but no more rain. There hadn't been much rain after noon-ish anyways and yet the weather people kept saying the worst of the storm would be around 2pm  I still have power but lots of other areas don't. Hope everyone affected by the storm is ok :YMHUG:

looking at Bev's (Gus) condo from yesterday - sounds like she's in the path of the hurricane. Haven't heard from Libby or Ronnie since it started - CD made it through. not sure who else was in the eye of the storm.

heehee karrie, well looks like you found punkin's condo! thanks for checking in!

our daughter did a beautiful job today in her duet - she and a lady probably 70ish sang How Can I Keep From Singing? - interesting contrast to have someone 25 with no vibrato and someone older with a lot - but they did beautifully. i looked to my husband and said "it was worth every cent of those music lessons, band camp and instruments!"

the oregon coast was gorgeous today. sunny, probably 75ish - lots of tourists and cars, but it was still nice.
