8/27 Elmo. +11 311. AMPS+. 265+1 206 + 2 247. +4 366. +. 7. 548. PMPS HI

It sounds like Elmo is feeling good. If AMPS is lower than the 311, or about the same, you'll want to get a +1 and a +2 test to see how fast he is coming down today.

On your SS can you drag the 2019 tab all the way to the left so it shows up first? Thanks.

Thanks ,:bighug:Carla Sorry did not post the +3 last night but storms knocked out our old desk top. Sending prayers to you and your fur babies this morning :bighug:

He's adorable! I hope he slides on down to the beach today - that blue beach is a nice place for kitties to hang out and relax.

Enjoy your day Beth!

Needing advice on steering after a bounce ...at what point do u give small amount of food ? When do you let the numbers go down ? :bookworm:

Looks like Elmo is clearing the bounce! Awesome!! ECID but if I notice there is a drop of 100 points or more or if I notice that the spreadsheet has two colours beside each other that have skipped the middle colour (Ex: a green beside a yellow) within about a 2 hr window then I will intervene with food you want to slow the drop. What kind of food depends on how low Kitty is. If your cat is dropping into yellow quickly you can try to slow the drop with LC, if your kitty is dropping quickly into greens it’s a little more dangerous and I typically use MC for that, if you go below 50 (68 alpha track) HC or even Honey May be needed.

LC is below 10% carb
MC is 11 - 15%
HC is over 15%

You will learn what will work best for Elmo as you go along! Of course if you think you should intervene with food but you’re not sure you should post about it! Someone will help :)

A much nicer start to the day! I'm sure that put a smile on your face Beth. :D

Your goal is to try to keep Elmo surfing in good numbers. Amanda gave you a good rule of thumb to follow. Whether and when you use LC, MC or HC really depends on your cat. Some are more carb sensitive than others so that can be an individual decision but usually LC for slowing a drop and higher carbs only if slide is close to/has reached or is below warning numbers.

Thank you,Linda :bighug: Was the drop from 265 to 206 a big drop that needed intervention. ??? So much to learn ? Just don't want him to bounce down to black again ....he is too old to be so miserable even for a few hours .

Hi Beth:)
Elmo is precious. Looking better already! At least you have some experience:confused:
Hi Jan ! Tina Marie is a doll :bighug: My experience was with vetsulin for only 6 months then remission for 2 years ....thot I'd never forget the diligence it took but doing this now , with diff insulin marks me as mostly a newbie to me :) So grateful for all the support from all y'all . It's a blessing to have this Board and all the loving Beans❤️

Thank you Beth, she even has a "doll purrsonality", most of the time!
Definitely, this board is a life saver.
Elmo is a handsome Young ;) dude, and I know you'll have him in nice shape soon!

+1. 206. Gave 1 t LC ...test again at +2 @AmandaE ??? What you think ??
I think it would be ok to grab a +2 since it seems like you already had insulin onset at +1, this should give you an idea of what type of slide Elmo will have today!

I have a good feeling hes heading to the beach and has plans to dip his toes in the lagoon :D

From your lips to God and Elmo's ears , Amanda :bighug:

Beth, let Elmo guide you as to the need for testing. It's not usually necessary to test every 2 hours. There will be times when you need to test frequently and times when you can take pokie breaks for hours. I'd test again at +4 and then decide from there when the next test is warranted/needed. While I hope he decides to head down to the water's edge, he may stay flat today while what appears to be have been a bounce finishes clearing.

I'd say pokie break until PMPS... what are your thoughts?
Yes ...366 at +4 surprised me ...thot he was heading down a bit o_O ( At 10:15 he got his thyroid meds/SQ/. Teaspoon baby food/teaspoon pumpkin cos we need some pooping action goin' on )
