Good morning!
AMPS 367 shooting 2.25u

Last night at +3 Boomer came down a lot so my plan was to test him when he got me up to "stir" his food. Of course he didn't get me up last night  Cats! :cat:You just can't depend on them  So he may have hit blue last night but if he did I don't think he went very far into blue given today's AMPS. Obviously hoping he works the juice today.

I had spoken with Dr Larry about starting an antibiotic prior to his dental (Friday) and he had originally told me to start it Wednesday but when I picked it up yesterday he told me to start it immediately (since I likely wouldn't want to have to pill him 3 times per day right after the dental work). So we started the antibiotic and he's had 3 doses so far.

Yesterday afternoon DH and I got out for a walk. We went on a trail that we hadn't walked before and I found a beautiful wooden bridge that was surrounded with wildflowers.....perfect for portraits! Trouble is....it's in the middle of nowhere and I doubt many customers would want to walk to it (assuming I could find it again lol). And I couldn't even get a picture of it because there were people on it :( Anyways it ended up being quite a long walk because we missed the path to the main walkway back to our car lol and we ended up in a school yard and had no idea where we were! Luckily I had my phone so google maps to the rescue
I think what I may do sometime soon is drive to the school where we ended up and walk the trail backwards to see if I can find the bridge and how long it actually takes to get there as I do know it was much closer to the end than the beginning!

The other day we went to a local park to scope it out for an upcoming session with a 6 month old and we found some Killdeer by the river's edge. I quite often see them in fields or on the edge of a road but I've never had an opportunity to actually photograph one. So here is a photo of my first Killdeer!

Sounds like quite the adventure yesterday. I hope you can find the bridge again and that it isn't that from from the school. It sounds beautiful! Love the picture of the killdeer. Although, I have bad associations with those birds. Lol. They like to build their nests in the middle of our yard and get quite annoyed at us for being out in our yard. Go figure! After years of fighting to use our yard during the summers, they have seemed to move on. Thank goodness. Come on down from there Boomer and good luck with the dental on a Friday. Hopefully that is all Boomer needs to get back to lower numbers.

Be sure to note the AB's on your SS;) Glad you found the way back..people here get lost on trails all the time. Head on back down Booms.
They are already in the date area....I can't see the whole ss on my screen and it drives me crazy scrolling back and forth so I tend to use the date to make an important notation! But yes I'll put it in the note area as well.

You can always go old school and drop bread crumbs as you walk. Then you just have to hope the critters don't eat it:p
google maps helped us! And it actually took us back to the main trail instead of via the street. I'm curious now as to how well it would have worked while we were actually on the trail!

Not bad considering he may have got into a bit of contraband this morning at AMPS. I brought Allen's dish (with remaining ff in it) into the kitchen, put it down and told DH he was in charge while I updated Boomer's ss and condo. Same as every morning. DH got distracted; I happened to glance over and Boomer was at the dish. There wasn't a lot of food left when I first put it down and when I grabbed it from under Boomer's nose there was still some left. So I don't think he got a lot; he may not have eaten any of it since it's chunky and he doesn't like chunky.

I hope Boomer comes down nicely before the dental.

Nice killdeer shot! Very cool, dignified birds. They will act injured to lure you away from their nests on the ground. So if you see one walking and dragging a wing, you are likely close to the nest. Be careful, the eggs usually blend in with the surrounding rocks and soil. And the chicks!! Adorable little fluff balls! :D

Sounds like a great day. I hope Boomer will do well at the dentist! Very nice shot of the Killdeer.

There is no substitute for a map and compass! (But a GPS and Google Maps is the next best thing.) You can also purchase GPS apps for your smartphone. If you find the spot again be sure to take down the coordinates. If your phone has a compass, you can read the coordinates there and be able to pin point your spot later on a map. Books on how to use map and compass are readily available. "Orienteering" is a popular sport. The US Geological Survey has detailed topographical maps of everywhere in the country. I assume that Canada has a similar mapping agency.

Back to the lagoon soon, Deputy Boomer!
