Hi everyone:
Many apologies for disappearing these last few months. Life has gotten crazy with work and work travel, eldercare, and just life. We are hanging on by a thread some days. I really should be in bed now but had to check in tonight to see if we can get some help for Asher's numbers.

I updated his spreadsheet tonight and wonder if I can have some eyes. Wondering if we have him on too much insulin or what is going on with all these 300s and lousy mid day numbers.

Right now he has been on 6 units and my partner Tom upped him again tonight (I wasn't home to offer my opinion). I just think it's too much juice, but maybe I'm going crazy. Many times I can't see the forrest for the trees with his chart so I am hoping you guys might see something to help us.

If you guys do think we have him on too much juice, how should we best reduce him?

All normal else wise. He had a dental in Feb. No ketones, eats normal, same food he's been on for years, acts fine, does the 5 P's. He just seemed a bit sluggish when we took him up to 6 units the first time, but it was crazy hot that week too, so not really sure. I have been on the road a bit, and he is a momma's boy, so maybe he's a bit depressed when I am not here too?

Any thoughts are much appreciated. MUCH!

Looking at Asher's SS, I'm not sure I can follow how you've been making decisions about Asher's dose. There's no way I can reliably say that Asher's dose is too high (or too low) since the dose changes haven't been systematic. The 6.5u dose looked promising but then the dose was reduced without Asher dropping below 40. (Asher has been diabetic for more than a year so the dose is lowered when Asher's numbers drop below 40 or if he is in the 40 - 50 range on 3 separate occasions.) It also looks like there are times when the dose isn't being held for at least 6 cycles.

Since you just increased Asher's dose, I would suggest that you hold this dose for 6 cycles unless Asher's numbers dictate a reduction. How about sticking with the protocol and seeing how Asher does?

I think Tom lowered Asher's dose when he thought Asher didn't feel the best. We'll stick to the protocol and see what happens.
Thanks Sienne.
