Good Monday morning!

Tina already decided .75 was too large of a dose (after two cycles), so we are back to .62 and hope to see some green nadirs at least. I hope it's a good enough dose this time around, but we may tweak up an itsy bit if necessary.

Leaving in an hour to see the vet again. She has a leaky right eye that we can't seem to heal. It gets better, then starts leaking again. I want to make sure it isn't something more serious that needs taking care of. We have used two different medications with no permanent success.

Sending good healing vines to ALL kitties and beans.

We also have some CBD capsules coming today. I'm hoping it helps with overall arthritis pain. I'd love to be able to get her off the .3 Metacam.
 
I hope the CBD works for Tina and you can get rid of the Metacam!

Just a quick question: normally on SS the GREEN range is between 50 and 99 and the LIME is below 50 which is not the case on your SS ! Is it because you're not using a human meter and modified the ranges?

Have a good visit to the vet!

We are using the AlphaTrac2, which would be a reduction below 68. I took it at 68, because at +3 (91), +5 (68) and +6.5 (92), I gave snacks and a bit of FF gravy (at +5). She would usually only have one snack between +3 and before +8. She would have gone below 68 if I hadn't fed at +3.

The vet gave us a complimentary visit, since we will now go to the Animal Ophthamology Clinic (thankfully very close by). His guess is conjunctivitis, but he would like us to go to the specialist to be sure. He told me to make sure the CBD is from Colorado, which it is. Nice start!

Let me know if I need to do anything to my SS to help!

It was a good visit, and since the doc had been putting her eye on the back burner, and I asked if I should go to the eye specialist instead, he didn't charge me!
It looks like conjunctivitis, but not severe. It seems odd it's just in one eye though (only to me). Doc suggested we go see the Animal Ophthamologist. I used to have to go 40 miles to see any eye specialist, but one moved almost right next to us. I hate the DFW area traffic!

Years back I had conjuctivitis, and I only had it in one eye. Puss actually poured out of my eye...pretty disgusting.

Regarding the eye specialist.....if in doubt, then go see the specialist.
Our pets have come really far with the medical attention they can now receive. Years back all the vets were concerned with were vaccinations, but now their is blood wk, echo's, Ultra sounds, X-rays, blood pressure, etc, etc, etc...Our pets are soooo lucky to have us and Yes, "We" are lucky to have them:bighug:

We sure have come a long way. Now we fight to hold back so many vaccinations and expect a lot more out of our vets too. At least I do! I need to remember that.
Tina has been very active today and wanting attention Now! The discharge is usually clear, but I have seen it a little tan at times. I'm going to call the specialist in just a bit - wanted to give the vets office time to call in the referral. I'm trying so hard not to be pushy!
Oh, and thanks for the one eye info. I just thought that after a few weeks, the other eye would catch the virus or bacteria too.

It was so many years ago, but I do believe I only had conjunctivitis in one eye. I got it from using a suntan lotion called Ban de Solei,(can't remember exact spelling). Anyway, it was summer time, I just started using contact lenses and somehow the suntan lotion gave me the infection. What a mess.....the eye ointment that I was using had sulfur in it and I LEARNED the hard way, that I am alergic to SULFUR Drugs. It made my infection worse and I had BIG Blood spots in my eye....yukkkkk. It finally all cleared up....see there is always a happy ending:smuggrin:

You know, I just want to cry and laugh and . . . were you me?! I bet you weren't nearly as dumb. Well, I didn't have a sulfur allergy. I just flashed back to the late 70s!! Ban de Solei was IT! I also wore contacts. I had recently moved to Texas and wanted a tan! I even used a sunlamp in my face (and ended up with excruciating eye pain for several days), and had a big scab across my chest. I had used the sunlamp on part of my skin that had peeled, you know, to even up the tan:woot: First day on a new job, I had a huge bloodspot on my eye. My coworker thought I always looked like that because it took about a week to go away.
 
I hope the CBD helps too! I tried with Ming but I suspect I didn’t give him a large enough dose and I also don’t really know what I was giving it for lol!!!!! I just thought I’d try and see if it helped with his numbers or overall behaviour. But he’s usually a very chill boy. Just curious: How will you dose with the capsules?

Hi Crista! I know I've told you Tina's best bud looks like Ming:)

So glad you asked! I'm giving it for arthritis, and hoping to get off the .3 Metacam (NSAID). New studies are showing it's not as dangerous - giving in low doses - as first thought, to cats with pre-existing kidney disease. However, Metacam is still not something I like using long term. Tina won't be able to tell me if her stomach starts hurting from the stinkin' NSAIDS. Her vet convinced me it was safe for her kidneys, but about a week ago, he mentioned CBD, and cautioned on the Metacam. I was a bit stunned at his change of attitude, in a short time, on Metacam's safety. Vet said to make sure you get the CBD from a Colorado source. More of "his studies" show that only 20 percent of the CBD we purchase, actually stacks up to it's content claims.

I just received the CBD capsules! I'm only using 1/2 to start, then going to regular dose. I just mixed it in her food and she ate it right up:)

If I could post a pic from my computer, I'd show you my "Ming" with Tina.

We are probably about the same age because I got my contacts in the late 70's early 80's and I could never get enough of the sun...I had to be tan. So now all those years later I have gotten plenty of skin cancer. I am now paying for that beautiful tan that left me with huge water blisters. So I was pretty dumb and stupid. If I only knew then what I know now.
 
Debra, I first got skin cancer a couple years ago. I'm 58. The dermatologist made a wise crack about my pretty tan, while freezing off the cancer. I quit tanning, and now just shake my head at sun worshippers.

Please laugh more, the Reader's Digest says it's good medicine . . . Laughter, the Best Medicine:joyful:
