8/26 Racci and Melanie update

thought I would share with you a note from Melanie. I had a pm waiting since June hoping she would pop in.

Hi Rhiannon,
I'm sorry I just disappeared. I've been in terrible pain and just too miserable to type or act like things were ok. My breathing has been really bad from; ;the copd and my back,hips and neck are sheer agony from the multiple problems I have with them and the rsd so I've just been miserable.

Racci is still doing fine and almost always in green or blue and I have a new furbaby! He adopted me outside of my house. The poor baby was only about 5 months old, skinny as a rail and was hiding in the woods across the street when he saw us talking in the driveway. His eyes met mine and it was an instant look of 'where have you been mommy? I needed you?' :lol: He ran across the street to me and started jumping on my legs and rubbing on me, then playing with my grandson and that was all she wrote! I couldn't find his home so guess what? You got it. About $400 later he's neutered, vaccinated, chipped and our newest baby driving us all nuts with all his energy. @-)

I'm going to try to post but don't know how long it will take me to get caught up on my ss! I've been embarrassed to post with it so behind. Well please let everyone know I'm still alive and thinking of you all and thanks so much for caring and checking on me. You're so sweet and caring. It's nice to know someone noticed I wasn't here. I feel awful for just dropping off like that.

I agree: thanks for posting. I had wondered ow they were doing. So nice that there is a new furkid in the house. I so hope Melanie is feeling better.

Melanie, please don't feel badly about not posting. We totally understand. Big hugs to you and sending tons of healing energy. I also wouldn't worry about updating the spreadsheet with past values. I can't imagine anything more tedious! As long as her numbers are good and you don't need advice, I would let it go. The main thing is for you to take care of yourself.

It warms my heart to hear about your new baby. I'm so glad he found you! What's his name?

Hi Rhiannon, Anne, Michelle, Sienne, Liz, & Devon!

Thanks so much for passing on my update, Rhiannon and thanks for the warm thoughts from the rest of you. I've missed you all. It's been lonely around here with only my dear dil to talk to. :lol:

Our newest member of the family is Benji The Fuzz. (You know how I love those weird names :razz: The Fuzz is my dear grandson's addition though. He insisted that we name him that and since Jesse was there when Benji found us, that means he can name him too.) :lol: He's about 6.5 months now and a terror. I forgot how mischievous they are at that age when they don't have another kitten to play with! ohmygod_smile He drives us crazy, running around like a little maniac, climbing the walls and trying to make Racci play with him or torture me. He's a brat and his favorite game is to chew my toes or hands or pounce on my head when I try to sleep! Yesterday he discovered the garbage cans, oh lucky me! The toilet paper and paper towels have to be hidden and nothing is safe anywhere since he is a gymnast extroadinaire! :lol:

He's doubled his size since he's been here though and is super long and thin and very cute and affectionate. He absolutely adores Racci and has finally won her over. She was not happy about him at all at first. His antics & flirting are really hysterical. He's a short hair black & white tuxedo with faint tiger stripes. (I never saw a black cat with this kind of coat) and a bow tie on his cheeks and under his nose and real long ears like a siamese.

Racci gave me a scare today with a 23! because she refused to eat. I forgot she hadn't eaten enough and didn't push more food on her but luckily caught her before there was a problem and fed her. She was back up to 85 within an hour. Well talk to you later. I'll try to post tomorrow.
