Polly's coming with me to work today. I'll drop her at the Sanctuary's clinic on my way to my workplace so she can get the tests CSU wants before we get there for her SRT the week of September 8: bloodwork, urinalysis, chest rad. She'll be a poor, pitiful Polly until I can get her home late this afternoon.

Good day vines and wishes for everyone.

Re: 8/26 Polly AMPS 268

HI guys .. fingers crossed miss polly has an easy day with all her testing going on .. and sending out calming thoughts to you as well, it's hard to leave our babies in the hands of others! Have a great day!

I hope everything went well with the tests today. That blue is surprising after the vet. I hope Polly keeps surfing for you.

Less than 10 minutes home after a 30 minute car ride following 8 hours at the clinic and the girl comes in at 176.

She is traveling better and better. Yes, she mews. Yes, she sometimes opens her mouth while breathing, not really a pant, though, just a couple normal sequence breaths. I'm beginning to think she's trying to absorb all the country-side smells beyond what her nose can gather. She sits up in the carrier looking around through the front, the sides of her "cage." Much happier (and quieter) when I pull back the cover from her carrier and she can see the world going by.

Bloodwork done in house is fine. All down the middle of normal. More diagnostic results in a couple of days when the sample sent out comes back. Urinalysis was sent out too. Chest rads show nothing out of the ordinary.

Have to contact CSU about transmitting the x-ray. Clinic can e-mail it, but I don't have CSU e-mail, just the fax number. Clinic isn't sure they can fax rads. We'll figure it out.

Thanks for the good wishes. Little Miss Polly Princess did well. She's become quite the little trooper. (Not bad for a girl who just a few months ago would hide under the couch, run when I got too close, and panicked at unexpected noises or unsolicited human contact. She continues to amaze me.)

Thanks for all the support. Step by step. We just keep plugging along.

It seems like Polly has figured out that what you're doing helps her to feel better.

Great vetty and travel report for Polly!I think these little kitties really do learn pretty quickly that we are doing our best to help them, and in turn they start to help us help them. They are amazing!!

Thank you for all your support about my Dad....I can't tell you how much it has helped!!

Have a great evening, Marilyn!

Great news from the vet! And that she's traveling well. I think this little trooper knows you are trying to help her. B/W is awesome, but you are doing a great job with her numbers. BTW, some kitties will go lower at the vet. Give Polly some extra scritches from me tonight - she did great. cat_pet_icon

Do you work at the Sanctuary? That would be an amazing job.

What a wonderful vetty report for Polly! I love reading how she slowly but surely has gained confidence. We have a skittish baby, too. She was a sickly foster kitten, and the stressors associated with constant vetting when she was a baby I think contributed to her nervousness. After being adopted and then returned, DH and I decided we couldn't let her go, and she became our forever fur kid. We thought she'd be a forever hidey cat, but now, two years later, she is a total diva, and marches around tail in the air, making sure we admire how beautiful she is. We look back and joke that we NEVER thought she'd hang out in the living room with us, or voluntarily jump up next to us on the couch. Those tiny baby steps are so incredibly special with a shy kitty, and Polly's just becoming a real champ! Polly's such a gorgeous girl, too! I love seeing her profile pic. Hope you can add some more to her profile for me to stare at and admire sometime.

how were the labs that were out of normal range last time? the albumin, magnesium, cholesterol and lipase?

punkin got so he liked to look out the window when we traveled, although most of the time he spent under the driver's seat. that was his favorite hidey spot. i'm glad polly is doing better on the traveling. have you had to use Rescue Remedy or is she just getting used to it on her own?

i had a cat that rarely went to a vet (so minimal bad car experiences) who used to travel with me everywhere. I had an old car with a front bench seat and she would ride on the back of that seat by my shoulder. :-D that was when i was in college and she'd go with me to and from my folks' house all the time. it definitely made life easier.
