Hope you found 'the one'. I'm looking for something along those lines as well..however mine is for a narrow dresser type thing...something with drawers, not too deep...to serve as a console with storage under the new TV in the bedroom...we just got rid of that huge armoire and I don't want to replace with another large piece...so far a small table does the trick for holding the DVR/DVD players...less is best sometimes!
 
what I found was essentially a bakers rack .. looks home made, much sturdier than usual manufactured item, oak 2x2s for the framework, formica-covered top chest-high for a female so perfect height for DH's microwave, with a pull-out cutting board, solid shelf near the bottom to hold heavy things -- DH says "perfect!"
