I tried out the feeder again last night to try and give Lightning some food later in the night.....not sure if it actually got the chance to go off or if they got into it again. When I went to sleep both cats were laying down right next to it sniffing and pawing at it.

Found another small spot of dried liquid throw up, which I can only assume is Lightning. Not sure why he keeps doing this, my vet said it was probably because he gets hungry at night. I think I'm going to start feeding him a total of 2 cans of FF at night, rather than 1 1/2 like I have been. And maybe this will help the throwing up thing. And as much as I don't think the feeder is going to work out, I'll still try to put something in there and hope that Lightning gets it later into the night.

Starting off high yellow this morning....will take another test at +3 to see what he's doing. Hoping for some lower yellow!!

Good luck with the feeder. Ours works out well - but it did take a little time to teach Mannie what "that sound' meant. Now he knows and doesn't miss a feeding, well almost never: he has slept through a few. What is interesting is that the others have not figured it out. I have placed it up on a table that is Mannie's spot - maybe that is why. ???

Hey Lightning! Some lower numbers would really make your bean happy!

Have you ever tried the frozen food pucks? Freeze some food in ice cube trays and put it out at night to defrost?
Maybe the extra food will help....it's tough with the night feedings though. Especially when you have more than one. I just get up at 3am nowadays and test Shadow and feed the two of them. I also bought the 5 meal feeders but since i have to get Shadow's numbers, i haven't used them so much yet. They don't have a lid that opens...so I think it is a little more tamper-proof.
I had to laugh at the thought of the two of them lying there by the feeder...they are sooo smart, aren't they? :lol:

I haven't tried the frozen food thing...I can just imagine them watching it defrost all night!! Haha!! I saw the 5 meal one after my sister bought the 2 meal one and was like "crap!" I think that one had potential to work out better as well....But it is funny to see them just sitting around sniffing, knowing that there's something good hidden in the secret box.

Michelle, unfortunately I think anywhere I put the feeder, they will smell the food and go for it. I actually had a bowl of cat food next to my bed that I was waiting until I was about to go to sleep to give Lightning and he was sitting right next to me waiting for it. I had also put a bowl in my bathroom and again was waiting until right before bed to give it to him and he was scratching at the door. These cats have supersonic smellers and know where food is at all times!!

This is basically identical to yesterday, just with different numbers (same colors though). So I can only assume we are looking at another yellow night. Not even going to bother with a test until at least +4. I get antsy though, so who knows, maybe a +3.

I was able to hold out until +4 and I was rewarded with a blue 110!! Woohoo!! Gave him 1/4 can 10% FF so hopefully he doesn't go much lower. Will test again at +5 to see what the night will hold!

So, a funny thing happened tonight....I thought I had the cats tricked with the feeder!! I put food in one side and left the other side empty and open. They immediately smelled the food, but the opened side made them think that their noses were playing tricks on them and there really wasn't food in there. So they left it alone for about an hour or so. But then I go back in the room to find the dish of the opened tray out on the floor and the one with food on it is trying to be pulled out! Darn! Guess you can only cure the curiosity for a little while before it gets to them!

Well, might be a long night!! Looks like I might be crashing on the couch again!!

+5 71 and I fed him 1/4 can 10% FF and just a 1/2 tsp of HC gravy on top. Hopefully its enough (without being TOO much) to keep him from dropping anymore. Guess I don't need the feeder tonight....I'll be the feeder!
