Hi everyone,

Charlie is in blue numbers this morning. Still not real high, but at 5.8 (104.4). We are both going to work today so I'm not sure what's best for her.

Shoot a very low amount (.05) and leave out extra MC food? Just to bop the numbers back into place again and give her a little bit of pancreas support?

Or wait and see what her numbers are this evening when we get home from work?

If anyone is online, your quick input would be appreciated. We will in any case make a call on this within the hour.

I wouldn't shoot, Jill. That's a normal number. Can you feed her and check in a couple hours to see if she brought herself down or are you both leaving for work now?

We both leave for work. I can wait an hour and a half before leaving, and test then? It's not 3 full hours, but I can test at +2, and post her number and get input?

Also, should I feed her now? It's currently only 20 minutes past the AMBG time so I'd still have 1.5 hours to wait and see if she brings herself down a bit if I test again at +2.

Yes...just feed her and test her right before you leave.

will do. gave her food. she hardly ate any of it, then went to hide behind the couch. hope this girl is feeling ok. will test her in about an hour and 15 minutes, and then post for final guidance. thanks for the reply and help.

I should be up another hour or so.

Sometimes the numbers creep up on an OTJ trial but as long as they stay mostly below 120 and come back down after they eat, then we continue up the trial. I really am not that worried now about a 104.

AMBG was taken at 7am = 104 (5.8)
BG taken now at 9:15am = 113 (6.27)

Leaving for work now. What do I do?
- Shoot .05 units and leave out MC?
- Don't shoot and test when we get home at PMBG time?

Don't shoot. Test when you get home. We will be able to see over the next couple cycles if this will work but I'd give her a chance. She's still in normal numbers.

Try not to worry. It's ok to leave food out.

If you are home by +9 or so, you could test, feed, and then test at your regular PMPS to see if she's down.

Also, she didn't eat her breakfast really. Now hiding behind the couch (where she goes when she doesn't feel well). Hmm... must leave for work ASAP so your quick input is appreciated.

I will not shoot and see what her numbers are later. She has food out now, and the machine opens up at 1pm to feed again, so whenever we get home we can test and see where her numbers are.

She's now out from behind the couch up on her chair. I'm sure she'll be fine in any case. Thanks for the quick coaching late at night your time. You're the best.

I'd sure like to see Charlie breeze through this trial. But if she starts creeping up above 120 and not bringing herself down, we can restart a small dose. We just need to really stay on top of it.

8/26 Charlie AMBG 104.4 +2 113 +10.5 79 PMBG 94

Hi guys,

My partner was home at +10.5 (5:30pm Amsterdam time) and tested. Charlie's numbers were back down in the green. Thing is, it turns out the feeder didn't open up, so Charlie never got her lunch but she did finish her breakfast.

At 5:45pm tonight, we fed her a late lunch since she was starving. It's now 6:30pm. At 7pm we will test again to see how she's doing, and to see if that little old pancreas is back in action.

Hoping this girl is on the path. Really. That would make me so happy after all of these sleepless nights.

Charlie didn't eat all of her lunch/dinner. Maybe she's leaving it for later?

Lately, she's not drinking a ton of water, or really scarfing down the felix food, but she does eat it by the time the 6 hour feeding cycles pass usually, so maybe she has learned to eat when she needs to? Not sure. I worry that she's not getting enough water since her fur doesn't look the absolute best.

Still, I'm real happy her numbers are looking better with no insulin. No matter how long this positive wave lasts, I'm happy it's at least here for awhile.

If she's in the green at the PMBG or AMBG time, no need to test again that cycle. Charlie is looking great! :-D

OTJ trial day 1 for Charlie,
fur is looking a little snarly,
she needs to give herself a nice long tongue bath,
then she'll be so pretty walking down the path,
Charlie's a kitty that certainly deserves,
to walk that path and around those curves,
to perch on top of walls,
and reach the falls.
