it's the curse of the military (JBLM .. joint base Lewis (Army) and McChord (Air Force) is just north of town) -- families get deployed and cannot take pets with them; most of our pets have arrived at our place because of that

in case you wonder, cats' dish is on top of a ladder, they have to leap to a sawhorse to get to it, keeps it away from ground-dwelling wild things

Kurry is so sassy... love it!! looks like you have a nice little cat family!

Catcat! did you hear about a dosecrease threat!? better work that juice!!

Your pets should love you a ton Candy! Love the pics, thank you:)

Awwwww! Such cute pics of the kids! You're a sweet person with a generous heart to take in all those dear kitties :)

Hope Catcat went surfing today with Miss Luci Fancy Pants...she was out there for a bit today :D:D

guess I better try a dose increase in the morning -- have no idea what he did this afternoon, had an errand that ran long (but was successful)

PMPS 174 -- not that bad but would have preferred ... well, you know

Thank you for the barn cat pictures, they're very cute just like Catcat! What a sweet lady you are Candy, those kitties are so lucky to have you! :bighug:
Threats worked a few times for us but then Leo would call my bluff and I had to actually follow through!

great group out here, Barn Cats R Us -- working with several humane societies and shelters, do their best to find placement for ferals, abuse survivors, TNR groups being displaced, outside cats or those who have habits that preclude indoors, basically cats who (at least at first glance) don't qualify as house pets -- they make sure the cats are in good health, get their immunizations, neutering, microchipping, and ear tipping ... then they become working cats, taking care of rodents and other pests, some in public areas, some in farms, some in private homes .. barns, garages, sheds, whatever ... adoptees have to agree to furnish food, water, vet visits when necessary, and never use poisons on the property

the good news is, thanks to the barncats, we no longer have mice or rats in basement or pantry, we no longer have moles or gophers in the yard (and neither do the neighbors on either side), even Catcat helps by bringing in a shrew for a present, now and then -- the wild rabbits scurry through the bushes on the sideline, the squirrels are smart and stay in the oak trees, the deer eat the neighbor's fallen apples but leave ours alone

What a great organization! And what wonderfully smart thing to do, to find homes for those cats that are not qualified as house pets. They're still on their own but have shelter and people feeding and looking out for them. Brilliant!
