Ok Ollie has a poop over night and at shot time this morning. This morning you could hear the squirt but it wasn't running. She turned away from her food then vomited brown liquid. I wonder if vomit is from straining although she didn't strain. The last day she missed of no poop was on the 20th. She went twice on the 23rd.

Put her in playpen, back to q 8 hrs of bupre. Went btb til +2.5. When I opened playpen she came out to lay in sun and vomited again. I don't know what causes this. Maybe I will do fluids 3x week instead of 2x and give 50 ml instead of 70 ml. She drinks a ton of water everyday but isn't dehydrated.

+4.5. Has black water stool coming out. Vetty at 3 pm.
 
vines and prayers -- when I hear about brown vomit, I always thinK "bile" and "is the cat super hungry?" -- because that's been the cause the few times I've seen it with Catcat

This was her food. If it wasn't for the black tarry, mucous stool (which is never a good sign) I would wait out the vomiting of food. I keep thinking when her vet took her temp on the 14th and tech didn't hold her good enough. Ollie was moving to much and who knows if thermometer poked or punctured something.

Yes I think you were very right to make the appointment - black is always a big warning sign! I hope it is nothing Paula, and I'm so relieved you could get little Ollie in today! Sending max vetty vines that it isn't anything too serious.

It's official, I have lost my mind. I went to wrong vet !!!!! On the good note it was her former vet and they saw me without appt.

He thinks it's more of colon irritation since there is no fresh new blood and she has a big colon to begin with. As far as the stink he said it was anal gland that popped.

He doesn't want to give her anything yet and give her a day or two. Today's lactulose is being held. Still give her miralax tonight. Try the psyllium husk tomorrow instead of miralax.
 
Paula, glandex is great for anal glands keeps them cleaned out, I don’t have to take Bella every month anymore, last time we went they were clean, just in case u need something for them
Can’t say I’ve ever went to wrong vet but I sure did need that laugh...thanks:p:p

I was so embarrassed, I can only imagine what they thought.

I will try glandex, never had this problem before. Always thought the stink was p'titis flare. Will have to see if the stink goes away now.
 
Very best wishes for Olive. Going to the wrong vet made me laugh, but only because that one still saw you and Ollie, which was great.

Glad to hear you got some attention. Although, just from personal experience, "no news" isn't necessarily good news. But I know you'll keep on top of it. I'll be thinking of the both of you.
 
Whew! Reading this condo...I was hoping she'd be ok! And it sounds like the vet has pointed you both in the right direction. I hope she'll be feeling better tomorrow!
 
Paula, I'm so happy to hear it doesn't seem like anything too serious and you're on it. Sleep deprivation and stress ugh! :p

This makes me I wonder if Olive's anal glands get too full and would benefit from being expressed regularly? But the glandex powder seems like a good thing to try vs. actually expressing them. And since the vet saw her, her anal glands must've looked normal. You can sometimes express cat anal glands just be squeezing from the outside and pinching their butthole... if they'll let you!!!!!!!!!!!
