Good day to everyone. I hope you can all have a nice Sunday relaxing or doing something you enjoy.

Do I call this NDW - new dose wonkiness? She was already rising at or before +5 last night after the first dose increase to .75 (which is only a little early for the normal rise). I had intended to check at +10, but caught the +11. She didn't have better numbers like I was anticipating last night.

Tina had a good day yesterday; more activity than I've seen in weeks. She even batted her spider around and showed the other cats she is still Ms. Fancy Paws. Of all the cats, she always had the fastest paws technique. She adores her new feeder. She is spending more time up and around and less time sleeping on the couch. Still climbing stairs instead of jumping (which I wouldn't expect her to jump yet), but she has even started running a little! Not a real smooth thing to watch, but it's still beautiful to me.

May all the FDMB kitties stay safe and give their humans lots of love for all the care they receive. :rolleyes::cat:
 
Nice to hear Tina is climbing stairs and her legs are doing better! Her numbers are good, flat blues and some greens; no more yellows since a while !:) We'll see if she can do better with the new dose!

How do you manage with many kitties and one feeder? Does Tina has a microchip? I'm thinking of getting a feeder for Ti-Mousse but I have two other kitties..!

Good question! I herd the other cats in different rooms for their food, right before the feeder turns. When I have to be gone, I will put Tina in her own room. My dog eats, then goes into his crate - on his own - and waits for Tina to eat!

Tina is looking real good. You must take into consideration that you are using a pet meter. When I switched from pet meter to human meter, Yoyo's SS looked quite different. You can look at Yoyo's "2019 AT SS", that is the Alphatrak2 SS that I still keep for him.

Great news that she is climbing the stairs! And glad she likes her new feeder. What an obedient crew you have and a doggie that goes to his crates and waits for Tina to eat!

I would be surprised if this is NDW as it was such a tiny increase and she is rather flat. It should take another few cycles for the .75 depot to fill and see if that can do it for her. She has a lot of wiggle room to go down.

I appreciate this; it helps build my confidence and understanding, and helps me enjoy this day even more.

Dog is getting groomed Friday; then I want to post a picture of him with his favorite kitty, Tina!
 
Very nice Tina.

Ollie has the Surefeed microchip feeder. It is great. Very little noise. When I'm home I keep it off for the most part. When I put meds in her food and she doesn't finish it I can just turn it on and the others can't get it. Also lately she has been grazing so she can come and go as she wants. Training her with wet food didn't work, but using the treats she had it down in an hour. I think because she could see the food in it better. The only downfall is it can't be raised because kitty has to walk into it.

That sounds high tech and like a great idea, but her best buddy is a food hound. I can't imagine anything that would keep him from pushing her out of the way, and diving in, unless it slammed shut when her chip moved. Lol!

it does close when chip is moved and you can set the timing just a bit. Sometimes Ollie long fur gets in the way or she is to much at an angle but she figures it out.

Sonia, this is such a wonderful group, and it was nice to learn right along with Suzanne . . . AND Liz too!
I'm tired though and need to hang with my DH today as much as I will. Tina didn't give me any anxiety last night!

Just keep in mind, the board frowns on comparing numbers from human meters to pet meters because there is no corlation between the meters. There is no chart to compare human meter readings to pet meters because comparison is all over the place. Sometimes higher and then sometimes much lower with human and pet meters.
I only mentioned this to you so that you can see that Tina's SS would look different if you were using a human meter.
I think Tina is doing great!
 
Debra, every bit of information helps. I know what you mean though. I read in Think Tank I believe, a very good discussion on the human vs pet meters, and how there is not a direct correlation.

One of the drawbacks of the Surefeed feeder is that there is no time setting... not sure if that is an issue for Ti. If you have the space, there are also microchip door flaps. So you could try a micro chipped door flap into a space that has the timed feeder inside... this is a little more involved of course! But it could be a closet or room or even a cabinet depending on where he likes to eat. I've also read (off the board) about installing a micro chipped door flap in the side of a very large clear plastic bin, and you could keep the feeder in there.

Great info, very interesting; specially the door flap off a plastic bin! I'll look into all this! Tks so much Liz!!
 
At +5, 68. Just gave a little bit less than a teaspoon of FF gravy and a large teaspoon of LC. Will test in 20-30 mins. She is so happily licking after the gravy. My heart is racing a bit (happily) but I feel calm watching the girl so thrilled.
 
At +7 now. Half hour ago I fed LC snack; BG 72.
Regular snack time is at +8.
Nadir between +5 and +8.
She is all over the place, very into things!

I am reducing back to .62. If I hadn't caught the 68, it would have gone lower without more snacks than usual.

Good luck with the reducie! And good job catching the 68, so calmly handled! Tina must feel so pampered with her special feeder and yummy treats :)

I had the benefit of reading and preparing before I got to see the first lower than ever number! I feel lucky.
I got a laugh out of how much Tina was enjoying the experience. Also told my husband about the jokes around the cats watching the beans go nuts!
The thing I've had in my favor, is that our lower numbers tend to be in the early cycle instead of at night.
Is Figaro good?
