Murphy spent the day at the vet yesterday - his ultrasound surprisingly showed basically no change since the last one 1.5 years ago (some thickened loops of bowel), chronic pancreatitis, dilated bile duct, +/- some sludge, a few mesenteric lymph nodes (including a new one by the pancreas). The final report still isn't in though - I'm relieved but still puzzled by his month long symptoms. He has lost 6 oz in 6 weeks (but he was a little dehydrated) We're waiting for lab results - have vet appt Monday to go over everything. Of course, he didn't have a bowel movement at the vet :mad: but at home he's already had two very loose stools just this morning. So still a puzzle maybe a little like @jayla-n-Drevon's little one.
Not eating at all this morning - waiting for the appy drugs to kick in (and praying that they do)

Have to work a little and will try to enjoy this gorgeous day (sunny, highs in low 70s)

Let's hope the lack of change on the US is good news. You have so much to deal with to keep poor Murphy on an even keel. He's lucky to have as devoted a parent as you are. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Well, I'm glad that the ultrasound didn't show any major changes - but I totally get how frustrating it is to not get any answers.

I hope that Murphy's meds have kicked in by now and that he's eating.

And enjoy the beautiful day - it really is gorgeous out!

It is good that there are no major changes but yep...I get the frustration from lack of answers. Maybe he just has p-titis flares and is stuck in one right now - I don't know that a flare would necessarily show in an ultrasound or even labs.

Appy and poo vines and prayers.....

Thanks Amy, Carla, Christina and Kris - appy drugs have kicked in ;). It's so heartbreaking to see him walk around with his tail straight down, when it always used to be straight up.

Good news about the US but yes frustrating at the same time. Glad to see the meds kicked in and he's eating. Poor Murphy and you Carol. Hope you get out and enjoy the weather. Lots of vines and prayers.

I feel your frustration... After about a month of Rico being in remission and off steroid and lasix he had some sort of flare last week:(
Water poo and feeling low... back on steroid but BG still good--he is happy and active but it is really frustrating never knowing what is the right path. I treated as I think a hospital would-fluids a shot of cerenia -ondansetron and budesonide
sending good healing vibes :bighug:

Well, it turns out the appy stimulant worked great today and Murphy ate almost a whole 5.8 oz can - and he spent the day at the beach!!
It's dinner time, and he's not eating again. It's so hard to know what dose to shoot because I don't know how much/if he will eat (especially the night doses) @jayla-n-Drevon - I ordered the kitty poo pills from animalbiome - I'll let you know how it goes - thanks for the tip. I have a feeling the vet is going to want to try bude and I just might go for it - this can't go on

WOW he ate really good!
After Rico is stable again I will try to wean him off the budesonide again and maybe the poo pills will work their magic again:)
Just FYI--they coat the poo pills with something so they are not perfectly smooth-they want them to release at the right time for the best response. Holly is very nice and gets back to you quickly if you have questions.
I don't know if you tried the pancreas booster or gluco ensure but I had stopped for a while and started again the other day and they really do help Dre not only with bg but he just is more playful and silly:smuggrin:

Thanks Sina and Deb. @jayla-n-Drevon - Murphy has been on the pancreas booster for a few months - I stopped when all his problems started several weeks ago, afraid it was having an adverse effect. I have restarted yesterday - I never used the Gluco ensure - I thought it was for kitties who had fairly normal blood sugars. I am so sorry to hear about Rico. I hate this disease. If I can't get these symptoms under control, I"m starting to worry about Murphy's QOL.
