YESTERDAY'S CONDO:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=124062

Max didn't come down much last night. I have no idea why but hopefully not the beginning of a bounce as he is back to yellow this morning. He was hungry this morning and even got up on the bed to try to get me to feed him. It seems hard for him to do that now.

Last night I should have been able to catch up on a decent night's sleep but no such luck. First I had trouble falling asleep and then around 1:30 the fire alarm went off in the building. Again the company we pay did not call the fire department. Finally one of my neighbors did but I didn't get back to bed until about 2:30. Max was under the bed and I decided not to pull him out. I don't know when I finally fell asleep again but 6:15 came a little too fast. Max got his insulin about 10 minutes late so not too bad.

I hope everyone has a great week! Prayers and vines to all in need.

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS 234+2/222

So Max just came in to ask for his +2 meal and he got a test. I don't think that is what he wanted but he got one anyhow. Since he is over 200 I decided to stick with the 3% and see what happens. If he dives I will know to give 9% at this time. Of course he likes to keep me guessing so maybe not.

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS 234+2/222

Here is an interesting explanation of pancreatitis by a vet.

Pancreatic enzymes probably will help all cats with pancreatitis as well as antioxidants. Pancreatitis is triggered by pancreatic enzyme release and triggering of an inflammation cascade mediated by interleukins. Pancreatic enzymes have a negative feedback mechanism to reduce pancreatic enzyme production. Antioxidants reduce inflammation and block the release of some inflammatory mediators.
Unfortunately pancreatic enzymes are not completely without risk. They can cause oral irritation or bleeding and stomach upset. Only a few products have adequate strength and stability enzymes to be effective.
The pain and nausea come after the enzyme release and inflammation. Pain relievers and antinausea medications are necessary band-aids after the event has occurred. Pancreatic enzymes and antioxidants or even prednisolone can be preventative.

Low yellow is not so bad for a bounce! I hope he only heads down from here, but not too fast of course. Sorry to hear about the fire alarm...as if we're not sleep deprived enough!

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS 234+2/222+3/208+4/150

I spoke with the alarm company and of course they don't have a clue. Someone is supposed to come out today or tomorrow.
We had the same issue Christmas Eve and they rewired the system. I wonder what they will say this time.

If Max is bouncing I guess it's a delayed one. I just fed him some more 3% as he dropped 58 points. It seemed like too late for the 9%.

Looks like Max is on a mission now....time to surf, little one!

Interesting p-titis info!

Have a great afternoon, Elise....continuing prayers for your Mom!

Thanks, Amy. It was a tough weekend. I hope all is going well today with your dad.

As for Mr. Max, it would be nice if he would surf but he usually likes to climb at +8.

I guess he is on a mission. I'm wrong again.

it's like part of his mission is to be completely unpredictable! but woo-hoo - nice surf today.

Do you have the link to that pancreatitis info? that was interesting.

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS 234+2/222+3/208+4/150+5/99+6/79+7=55

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't predict what he will do.

The info on pancreatitis was written by the vet that helps out on a yahoo list. He's an IM with main interest in lymphoma and pancreatitis.

Nice greens for Max today. I hope he'll surf safely for you tonight and not bounce.

Thanks, Carla. He hasn't surfed this late in the cycle in a long time.

It's been an interesting day. Recap:

Gorgeous day today, Max! That's gotta lift your spirits a bit, eh?

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS234 +7/55 PMPS 115+1/128+2/104

Thanks Deanna and Jen for stopping by. Max isn't as hungry tonight so I wonder what's up. I take that back. I just checked and he finished the food I put out 40 minutes ago just now. I gave him 9% so he ate it a little later than I wanted.

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS234 +7/55 PMPS 115+1/128+2/104+3/97

So far he's coming down slowly. I guess he gets a little more 3% now.

Hi Elise!!

Just checking in and I see Max's SS is looking great! Wow!!!! You're doing a super job with him. Two lovely green cycles in a day. Except it sounds like you are really tired. So frustrating when you have a chance to sleep and something happens cat(2)_steam cat(2)_steam .

I have to read back through your condos but I hope your mom is improving.

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS234 +7/55 PMPS 115+1/128+2/104+3/97

Hi Marje. Welcome back. I missed you! You have been kept quite busy since your return with some challenging newbies I see.

Unfortunately my mom is not doing better. It was a tough weekend. Again we are hoping for a positive culture that can be treated and that it isn't dementia. It's strange because her memory is great in a lot of ways but I guess it can effect other parts of the brain.

Yes, Julie and 5 days in a row of green once or twice a day. I sure hope we are on to something. Thanks so much for the support.

Wendy, where do you get the cute smilies?

Re: 8/25 MAX AMPS234 +7/55 PMPS 115+1/128+2/104+3/97

I go to Google and search for "surfing smiley", then look at the images. The green surfer is one of my favorites.
