Previous thread!

I am currently--slowly--in the process of trying to teach myself and Esse to do shots in the hip area instead of only in the scruff/shoulder, as I am concerned about the possibility of scar tissue there long-term. Just feels better to have my options open, you know? So I've been trying shooting in the hip about once every four cycles, and last night is a great example of why I'm not trying it every time (fur-shot). He just doesn't seem to have that much loose skin to pinch. When we do his Libre next weekend I'm going to have Sam trim some hair in that area to see if it helps me practice.
 
Uh the dreaded fur shot! Happens to all of us and especially in handling new areas. I shave Binx as well, so hopefully that will help you.

Good luck with the hip area, I tried it only a few times and was clearly told by Ivy, um....no thank you!

Yeah, Jude's a hard no on shooting in the hip area or really any area outside of the scruff. My typically sweet dude will flat out growl at me. I just try to move things around the scruff as much as possible, and I hope it's enough🤞
