Last night proved the saying, "Be careful what you wish for." It's also an education for newbies that you don't go to bed at your normal bedtime if you've had an over 100 point drop in a two-hour time period. You would think a 127 was a safe number to go to bed on...nope. If I had not asked my DD to check Champ before she went to bed last night, it could have been disastrous. I checked Champ at 12:30 (+5.5) and got a 127. She checked him a half-hour later and he had dropped to 105. Thankfully, she knew not to go to bed with a dropping number. She gave him a spoonful of LC and checked him an hour later and got a 79. She fed him some MC. A half-hour later he had dropped again. She gave him some HC and he still kept dropping, going as low as 54!!! She couldn't get him higher than 66, but since this is a safe number didn't worry about it. Unfortunately, she kept waking me up to ask me which food to give him, how much, and to tell me his numbers. I got up at 4 a.m., having gotten only about an hour's worth of sleep, gave Champ some gravy only since he didn't want any food, and finally got his BG to rise at +10.5. I sure hope he plans on surfing some safe numbers today because I have a crazy busy day of work today and I'm going to be completely sleep-deprived. Thank goodness Danielle doesn't have to go to work until 2:30 this afternoon so she'll get about 7 hours of sleep.
Don't know when I'll get to condos today, but it will probably be one or two at a time throughout the day. I hope you all have a great Fursday!!
