Probably another bounce but he had carbs at +2 and +3 last night because it looked like he was diving again, and also because I wasn’t feeling good last night. I knew he was still influenced by the 5.5 depot and it was so early in the cycle so I didn’t think the carbs would hurt that much. Every time I think I’ve got this, Max tells me that I don’t. Could be high before low maybe. Too soon to say if the 5 units fails him again, but that did cross my mind. Not going to dwell on it.

Well he didn’t slide down as much as I’d hoped he would, but I’m wearing nice new pair of patience pants so paws crossed he will get back to good numbers soon. I really wish Max could hold onto green for a little longer than he typically does before a reduction. I want to see more green on his SS.

It looks like it will be another active cycle tonight unless he fools me. Does anyone know if there is anything I do about these dives every night then the huge bounces in the morning? His feeding schedule is all LC
Breakfast divided @ AMPS and +3, snack @ +5 and +7
Dinner @PMPS and +2, snack usually @ +4 and sometimes +5 more or less. I’ve tried feeding higher low carb foods at PS and +2. I am not sleeping much and when I do sleep all night, I wake up to him being on the moon. I’ve also tried leaving food out for PMPS+8. It doesn’t seem to matter either way. Someone please help me. I am delirious. I have no time for naps during the day either. @Wendy&Neko @Bandit's Mom @tiffmaxee @FrostD ??? I need an expert.

I want him to be flat whether it’s blue or green, whatever. The diving and bouncing is hard. Why doesn’t he just surf and stay flat? Too much to ask lol.

What carb % is your LC?

I think the trick is going to be identifying when he's heading into a bounce break. When he is, feed slightly higher carbs at +1 (and possibly a little after, hard to say). Today and yesterday he started very high, slid down and stayed fairly flat into PMPS - then dropped.

You might be getting a little SRT wiggle here lately, but it doesn't look as drastic as I'm used to seeing. Wendy would be better at seeing that pattern.

I usually give him 6% LC and 9% if I see he’s dropping fast. I will try feeding @ +1 and see if that helps.
It may not look that drastic because I’m trying to control it with food (at night). I feed him every hour on nights that he’s active. I may be able to stay up once in a while but not a lot because of my own health reasons. It makes it hard to see what’s happening with him. Thanks Melissa.

Would it help if I said that Neko once did three months straight of diving at night and bouncing during the day? Meaning, not sure I've go the best suggestions for you. :p If you see his PM+2 is dropping, that is before onset so means he's got some good downward momentum going into the cycle from the previous one. Might be a good time to use that 9% to try to slow him down. Or you can do as Melissa suggested and see if he's diving at +1 as well. It would be good to pinpoint at which time he's doing that big dive, and front load that by 20-30 minutes with some fresh carbs.

Okay I will see what I can do with that. It’s driving me crazy lol. I guess it does help to know that Neko did it too. I was feeling like I was doing something wrong somehow. Thanks Wendy.

We all do the best we can, you're doing great with him! You might have to play with the timing of the food like Wendy said...nights like this he's dropped pretty well by +2, so I'm guessing somewhere in the +1 hour or +2 hour to start.

These last two tests...oy Max!

It's interesting, I was comparing to the night before trying to see why he stayed flatter. I saw the MC and HC... possible that's what he needs to really put on the brakes (well maybe not the HC, looks like too big a boost from that).

Right, I couldn’t determine if the HC was too much and that slowed down the action so much that he has that high BG in the mornings… or if it’s the opposite and he dropped so low after the carbs wore off and that caused the big bounce. I’m trying to stay up a little longer to see how low he is getting. It’s definitely not easy.
