Not a good start for either one of my boys. Mandarin is due for yet another dosecrease tonight and Walter might get a dosecrease tomorrow if he won't start to come down a bit. I just want to kick myself that I forgot his Insulin on Sunday night, he had been doing so well. :arghh:

I still haven't heard from our shelter vet on a treatment plan for Iris. She seems a little less congested, but is still far from breathing normally. I'll give her a call this afternoon after I get done with my second class.

...and Fern and Ivy might attend their first adoption event tonight. There's really no medical reason to hold them back, but I just have a hard time getting used to the idea of giving them up...

Work that juice, boys!! No kicking yourself - things happen!!

Prayers for the kittens...Trix is a "foster failure" - I would never be able to let any of them go!

I hope both boys slide down today. How exciting for Fern and Ivy. I know it will be hard to give them up, but it would be great if they found furever homes. I hope you can get something worked out for Iris soon.

Ok boys, work the juice a little today...nothing dramatic though. I hope they give some direction for little Iris. Oh my geez on Fern and Ivy :( I give you tons of credit as I'm with Amy...would never let them go. Give the potential adopters an extra 3rd degree though to make sure they are puuurrrfect for those girls :kiss::kiss:

Boys! (Walter, Mandarin. I'm really wanting to stop my replies to your mom with that one admonition: Boys!) Get with the program and use the juice! Soon!

Ivy and Fern....good wishes for the perfect forever home! I love fostering. Oh sure, I cry when the foster(s) move on, to their forever homes or to the universe as my hospice fosters do. But, oh my, what a difference we foster folks make in the lives of those who need us. And then they reach a point when they don't need us anymore. That's a good thing! Of course, then it's time for another round of fosters! Hard. Yes. Rewarding...so YES. You've done good by those kits.

I generally love fostering too. I have fostered over 120 cats and kittens over the last 8 years and have been able to let all but 4 of them go (well, plus a few special needs ones - like Walter - that are "technically" fosters but are not really going anywhere). I think I have just become more disillusioned now that I know how many people return their animals, don't provide them with vet care, or don't take good care of them in general. I can't help but worry.... But I guess that's why we screen potential adopters.

So, yes, I will cry when they get adopted and I will make sure that they get the best possible home, but I really can't keep anyone else.

...but based on how my day is going, I doubt that I will make it to our adoption event tonight. Crazy busy first week of classes... and I'm sure my pups are expecting a walk as soon as I get home.

Mandarin and Walter....are you guys practising to be bookends or something? Seriously start working that juice; there is a dosecrease threat on the table for both of you!

Oh darn....here the sarcasm :smuggrin::smuggrin:

LOL - as you can imagine, I'll be terribly disappointed if I can't bring them. ;)

Well, it looks like Walter listened. I just came home to a 126 - not bad. :cool: ...Mandarin is "almost" blue, but since he doesn't tend to drop late in the cycle, that's probably as low as this dose will take him.

Okay, boys......yoohoo ! A dose crease is on the boards.

Oh baby girls, I hope you find your forever home that is ever bit as loving as the one you have been in . Christina, you are amazing! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
