SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride.
I hope everyone had a great Furday. Nicholas and I had a great day in the pool: alot of fun to be had yesterday. The energizer FISH was hard at it, nonstop motion. It is amazing to me still that he loves the water as much as he does. The past few times we have gone he has wanted to watch lessons. Good I think - get him used to seeing how they do them, help him be ready for when it is his turn. We did the trails after the pool, per the norm. It is amazing too that those trails still offer a ton of blackberries: the vines are just bursting with them. Major YUM! This is what I wrote on last night's post: "HI everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. The energizer FISH and I had a fabulous day in the pool. Awesome in fact. Today was lets play underwater day. I don't think my eyes will ever be the same...  There was a man there with his son who was trying to get the boy (4 or 5 yrs old maybe) to float, go underwater etc. Nicholas decided that he would show the kid how it is done, so he did. Everything was done under water, well most of it. ;-) That was funny. We both had to go under then he'd try and find me. So began our underwater game of hide and seek. I'd take a photo of him looking for me, we'd look at it when that hunt was over, he'd laugh and laugh and then it would be: "AGAIN, Grammie!, AGAIN!" So we did, over and over again.... It really was alot of fun. He watched another man showing his son how to do freestyle stoke. That was funny. I love it when parents try to teach. lol. Nick decided then that he could do that, so he did, one side of the beach area out the other. LOL: kid was so proud of himself. Alot of "Look, I'm swimming." he didn't do too badly either for a 2 yr old, at least his arms were out of the water, now if he'd get the face down part, LMAO. but it was fun. One happy little dude. Wednesday before we left I took him over to the big pool so he could watch lessons for some of the bigger kids, figured we'd spend a few, maybe 5 minutes watching so he could get a feel for it. oh sure... 15/20 minutes, and he didn't want to leave until lessons were over. Today he asked if he could watch again. So we did, same group of kids. It is interesting to watch him observe a class. Such focus, concentration on what they were doing. I don't think he moved a muscle or blinked an eye, just watched, listened as I explained to him what was going on, he commented on what he saw. Anyways - guess we will be doing that going forward. crazy. but good." Picassa links: Trails RULE!, and Swimming!

The kitties continue to be the kitties, each with distinctive personalities, things to offer, things to drive their bean crazy... Love them all. Today however is for Mannie. Yesterday Nicholas said, out of the blue: "I miss Mannie". Ah little man..... so do I. So we talked about Mannie, the things he remembers. Like breffis's together, with those blueberries! How Mannie loved chicken and fishie crackers and how they would share, and those blueberries that Nicholas kept trying to feed him. One day Mannie ate one. That Nicholas remembers. He remembers the nanners and how he would bring them all to him every morning when he came over. He remembers how Mannie would wait for him, at the top of the stairs, their greeting every morning. He remembers that sometimes when he napped Mannie would come and check on him (I had no clue he knew this one... awesome!). He remembers that Mannie had a special beeper that told me numbers, and he got ear pokes and had special medicine, and test strips and extra special fuds. He remembers the testing and how he would help. He would pet Mannie during his test, and give him a hug after. That he remembers too. INCREDIBLE! So Mannie... today is for you, and for that extra special boy who will never ever forget you. Neither will I. As this conversation wound down Nicholas says: "Mannie is in his garden. His special garden. He loves it there. I wish I could wake him up. It's ok grammie. Mannie is very happy, grammie, very happy" You gotta love that....
Have a great day everyone. It will be catch up day for me, normal Caturday things: shopping, laundry, bills, cleaning, etc etc etc.... I will hope for an afternoon trek/walk/hike through the woods to the shore. Weather looks like it should be ok this afternoon, once the clouds move on. Paws crossed!
And this to share: from Nicholas: Good Morning, from Nicholas....
