Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa~), and Happy Caturday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Lola and Bug have turned over a new leaf! no more sleeping in on Caturday! Two Caturday's in a row!!! They say Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for bushiness! They are running a Caturday Catmint special today - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese. Best order early! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride.

I hope everyone had a great Furday. Nicholas and I had a great day in the pool: alot of fun to be had yesterday. The energizer FISH was hard at it, nonstop motion. It is amazing to me still that he loves the water as much as he does. The past few times we have gone he has wanted to watch lessons. Good I think - get him used to seeing how they do them, help him be ready for when it is his turn. We did the trails after the pool, per the norm. It is amazing too that those trails still offer a ton of blackberries: the vines are just bursting with them. Major YUM! This is what I wrote on last night's post: "HI everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. The energizer FISH and I had a fabulous day in the pool. Awesome in fact. Today was lets play underwater day. I don't think my eyes will ever be the same...  There was a man there with his son who was trying to get the boy (4 or 5 yrs old maybe) to float, go underwater etc. Nicholas decided that he would show the kid how it is done, so he did. Everything was done under water, well most of it. ;-) That was funny. We both had to go under then he'd try and find me. So began our underwater game of hide and seek. I'd take a photo of him looking for me, we'd look at it when that hunt was over, he'd laugh and laugh and then it would be: "AGAIN, Grammie!, AGAIN!" So we did, over and over again.... It really was alot of fun. He watched another man showing his son how to do freestyle stoke. That was funny. I love it when parents try to teach. lol. Nick decided then that he could do that, so he did, one side of the beach area out the other. LOL: kid was so proud of himself. Alot of "Look, I'm swimming." he didn't do too badly either for a 2 yr old, at least his arms were out of the water, now if he'd get the face down part, LMAO. but it was fun. One happy little dude. Wednesday before we left I took him over to the big pool so he could watch lessons for some of the bigger kids, figured we'd spend a few, maybe 5 minutes watching so he could get a feel for it. oh sure... 15/20 minutes, and he didn't want to leave until lessons were over. Today he asked if he could watch again. So we did, same group of kids. It is interesting to watch him observe a class. Such focus, concentration on what they were doing. I don't think he moved a muscle or blinked an eye, just watched, listened as I explained to him what was going on, he commented on what he saw. Anyways - guess we will be doing that going forward. crazy. but good." Picassa links: Trails RULE!, and Swimming!

Normalcy in MusketeerVille! :-D   The kitties continue to be the kitties, each with distinctive personalities, things to offer, things to drive their bean crazy... Love them all. Today however is for Mannie. Yesterday Nicholas said, out of the blue: "I miss Mannie". Ah little man..... so do I. So we talked about Mannie, the things he remembers. Like breffis's together, with those blueberries! How Mannie loved chicken and fishie crackers and how they would share, and those blueberries that Nicholas kept trying to feed him. One day Mannie ate one. That Nicholas remembers. He remembers the nanners and how he would bring them all to him every morning when he came over. He remembers how Mannie would wait for him, at the top of the stairs, their greeting every morning. He remembers that sometimes when he napped Mannie would come and check on him (I had no clue he knew this one... awesome!). He remembers that Mannie had a special beeper that told me numbers, and he got ear pokes and had special medicine, and test strips and extra special fuds. He remembers the testing and how he would help. He would pet Mannie during his test, and give him a hug after. That he remembers too. INCREDIBLE! So Mannie... today is for you, and for that extra special boy who will never ever forget you. Neither will I. As this conversation wound down Nicholas says: "Mannie is in his garden. His special garden. He loves it there. I wish I could wake him up. It's ok grammie. Mannie is very happy, grammie, very happy" You gotta love that....

Have a great day everyone. It will be catch up day for me, normal Caturday things: shopping, laundry, bills, cleaning, etc etc etc.... I will hope for an afternoon trek/walk/hike through the woods to the shore. Weather looks like it should be ok this afternoon, once the clouds move on. Paws crossed! :-D

And this to share: from Nicholas: Good Morning, from Nicholas....

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

Re: 8/24 Loose Lips: another day in the pool... remembrances

Hi Michelle. Aren't grandchildren great? Nicholas is going to remember these day walking the trails and learning to swim with his GrammIe for the rest of his life. You are building so many special memories for the little man. It had to really warm your heart when he began sharing his memories of his little buddy, Mannie.

Love the pictures.....#14 of the swimming pics is priceless! You just might have a future Olympic swimmer there.

Have a great day Michelle and thank you for sharing your "Nicholas" time with us.

Re: 8/24 Loose Lips: another day in the pool... remembrances

What lovely remembrances Nicholas has of his best buddy. It is wonderful how this very special cat could so have touched the heart and mind of such a young child that he remembers everything. Really wonderful!

Love the pictures. The day at the pool, underwater, must have been so much fun.

Have a great day of whatever you decide to do today, Michelle,

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Elsa: the ~O) ~O) today was extra good!

Oh my...where are my kleenex? What a special, sweet boy. The bond he had with Mannie, a very special sweet kitty, is amazing and so strong. It will help us all keep memories of Mannie alive in our hearts furever.

Re: 8/24 Loose Lips: another day in the pool... remembrances

That is so sweet. It is wonderful that Nicholas has so many great memories of Mannie. Mannie was such a special kitty and they had such a bond.

Re: 8/24 Loose Lips: another day in the pool... remembrances

Nicholas is one special little man, that is for sure! I also had tears in my eyes after reading all of his memories. Two little men....ahhhh....I'm sure that Nicholas will never forget Mannie and neither will we!

Re: 8/24 Loose Lips: another day in the pool... remembrances

And you have pictures and videos as a reminder him too. Do you have a favorite pic of the two of them that you can print, frame and give Nicholas as a permanent reminder of their friendship. He may like that.

Re: 8/24 Loose Lips: another day in the pool... remembrances

Oh, my, how beautiful Nicholas' memories are. Brought tears to my eyes also. Hope you have a wonderful day Michelle~

Re: 8/24 Loose Lips: another day in the pool... remembrances

Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. It has been rather laid back here, but I did get done what I needed to do, errands, shopping, laundry etc. even made a short walk to the shore. We managed a decent afternoon here, with the sun shining by the time I made the shoreline. Tide was out a little too, so some exploring was a viable option. YAY! It was rally a nice day down there, glad I decided to go. I also made a trip to the vet to get a copy of Elsa's labs. OMG! She is in such great shape for a 17 year old kitty. SWEET! BUN was elevated (the only thing on all of her lab, UA, etc work!) but I think that is due in part to her high protein low carb diet. AND (!!!) her BG was 75!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D  AWESOME! I guess I don't need to worry about her being diabetic. ;-)

THANKS everyone for the visits today! SO SO APPRECIATED!

Hi John - I so agree! They are! I so hope you are right: on the trials, the rivers, the pool time: that he will remember the tie spent with me. That alone would be enough. OH YES on his talking about Mannie - that it did. All was so positive, none of it sad. I think Nicholas will have so many good memories of him. I have videos too should be need to see. -- THX on the pcis! He does so love the water, and wouldn't that be cool: a swimmer! and you are so welcome on the Nicholas share. My pleasure!

Hi Ella - I think so too: they are such good memories for Nicholas. I so agree with what you wrote: how very special indeed. it is wonderful! THX too on the pics. and yes, it really was an exceptionally fun day Friday. THX on today - a laid back one, but productive too, and I did get outside! :-D
THANKS AUNTIE ELLA! I made it extra good for you today. well, I tried! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Anne - oh no, the kleenex! ;-) there was a portion of me that needed those too. I so agree on that bond: very strong indeed. Lola is a close second, but I don;t think anyone will replace what he had with Mannie. It's just different with Lola. I really like this, as it is so true!
The bond he had with Mannie, a very special sweet kitty, is amazing and so strong. It will help us all keep memories of Mannie alive in our hearts furever.

Hi Carla, THX! I thought so too! I am taken back at times by how much he really remembers of Mannie. Just goes to show how close they really were.

Hi Deb - THX for the visit, it is great to hear from you! THX on all of that. I think he is one cool little boy too! Such a kind heart he has.

Hi Hilliary - yes, that I do: have photos, videos, alot of Mannie things. I really like that idea of a fav oi of them together, I do actually have a couple of them. I think that is a very cool idea, and will do that for him.

Hi Jane - THX, I thought they were too. He remembers so many things! He was so happy when he talks about them too. The thoughts just kept coming and coming and coming. incredible! THX on today, it was good!
