Yesterday's Condo

Gabby came to bed last night with kitty kisses. This is somewhat new behavior. She's never been a kitty that gives "kisses" and I think she's adopted this behavior from Gizmo who will wash Gabby and me. This morning, she planted herself in a new box thereby claiming it as a Gizmo-free zone. Gizmo was not amused -- he swatted at her and wanted to play. I had a very long discussion with Gizmo about how rugs are not for scratching. He was better about using his scratching post but I suspect I will be purchasing some bitter apple spray today to reinforce the discussion.

Hi Sienne. Gabby is looking good this morning. Sounds like Gabby really likes her new box. I'm sure Gizmo will get the message and return to using his scratching post....he's a smart guy.

Kitty kisses are a great way to go to bed.

Where do you get your bitter apple spray? A little acrocat likes the top step as her scratch post. :roll:

Hi Sienne! I have a carpet scratcher too! Hector has actually pulled up the carpeting in a couple of corners in my apartment. Crazy cat!

I found a product from Nature's Miracle that is a scratching deterrent. It contains cinnamon, lemongrass, and rosemary oils. So far, Gizmo is steering clear of the area where he's been scratching. I found it at Petco.
