Well, I finally did it and reduced China down to .75!

I know I could have done it sooner, but was kind of waiting for her to get her 3rd number under 50 since she's not great at holding reductions

I'm going to have a busy couple of days though so I felt as long as I was busy with DM over the next several days, it was best to just go ahead and see how she'd do :nailbiting:

Got China's dental scheduled for next week (thanks so much to those who helped me with it!) and hope to be able to get her there for it, but with DM's health, I've finally pulled the plug on "independent living" and I'm going to be moving her into assisted living as soon as possible. Got her medical records sent to them and waiting for the final "OK"...and then she has to have two TB skin tests (she has to have at least 1 done before they'll take her and then repeated in 21 days) so hoping we can get that started next week too.

At least she can keep Miss Kitty at this place....that makes her happy....but I'm still concerned that she's not really able to care for her properly....I guess if it becomes an issue, they will tell me I have to rehome her (the cat, not DM)

Anyway, wish us luck with the reduction.....and everything else too!!

Hope you're all having a good week and your kitties are feeling great!! :D:D:D

Wow you have a lot going on right now. Hope everything works out with your mom and that she is able to stay there and keep her kitty. Good luck with the reduction.

Good luck with the reduction and vines for China's upcoming dental.

I hope all goes well transferring your Mom to assisted living and she can continue to look after her kitty.

Congrats on the reducie. I'm glad you got her dental scheduled. I hope things go well with your mom's move and taking care of her cat. Sending prayers.

Yo Deputy China, congrats on the reducie! What a great cycle today! Hope to be back in the lagoon soon. I got a fur shot today and the a/b I have to take for my pneumonia is slowing down my full-time return to the lagoon. In the meantime, you're in charge!

Good luck with China's dental and with your mom's move, Chris. Having gone through a similar situation with my 92 year old aunt, I know what a challenge it can be. My aunt didn't have a companion animal, but I think it would have been easier for her if she had.

Yeah I'm not sure how long she'll get to keep her, but knowing Miss Kitty can come has made it a lot easier for her to accept.

One thing I know for sure.....this is the last time I'm moving her! I still don't know what I'm going to do with all the stuff in her apartment! I can't afford a storage shed and although there are some pieces I'd like to have, I don't have anyplace to put them in my house right now either...unless I move stuff out of my house so I can move her stuff in!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Congratulations on the reduction! Whoop whoop! :-)

We moved my mom into assisted living last year (dx with Alzheimer's). It's not an easy decision to make or an easy journey to be on, I know. But we found a phenomenal place for her, and after a LOT of challenges and adjustments, she's now very happy - and very safe...no more setting the kitchen on fire and other such scary things... :-) Wishing you all good things... :bighug:
