Yesterday's condo

Happy Caturday Lantus Land

Been another long day so just now taking the time to do today's condo. China's numbers aren't making much sense, but since I've been busy with Mom, at least I know she's not dropping too low when I'm gone...but we're also not making much progress toward regulation

Hasn't been a good day for Mom..she's been very nauseous and miserable. Her mental status is better, but she looks much more sick. Took 2 hours to get an order for Zophran but after it kicked in, she was feeling better...and then lunch came. She tried 1 bite of turkey sandwich and immediately turned green again

Her abdomen is severely distended to the point she looks like she's 9 months pregnant, but X-rays,ultrasound and CT show nothing...no gas, no fluid... nothing that would explain the distension

Her blood pressure went high overnight and isn't wanting to come back down today no matter what they do.

Of course it's also the weekend, which means staffing at the hospital is low, but the patient load isn't. It's terribly hard to sit and watch someone you love so miserable and sick, and also have to understand that there are other patients who's loved ones are doing the same thing while the nurses are busy with you

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, and lots of kitties are spending time in the lagoon!

Chris, I haven't been on too much lately so I missed how your Mom has been sick. I'm so sorry to hear this. We're in a similar boat as my Dad needs full time care since he's bed ridden, has kidney disease, and memory problems, too. So, I can understand the stress you are under. Caring for a parent is never easy. I hope the doctors can figure out what is going on and how to help her feel better soon. And I hope for peace and as little stress as possible for you, your family, and China. Come on China...give your Mom some good numbers!

Hi Chris - so sorry about your Mom. I wonder if China's numbers are just God's way of giving you a break so you can focus on your mom. I know they aren't the best numbers, but at least it's not pink or red! I will continue to pray for your family!

Sending prayers and healing vines to your mom and calming vines to you Chris. I know this must be so stressful for you to have your mom sick in the hospital and no clear diagnosis of what is going on. Sending you lots of {{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}

Please China, stay safe while your momma bean is looking after her momma, ok sweetie?
 
Thanks again for your support, prayers and vines...we really need them. It's just been a bad day all around for mom and she gets upset if there isn't someone familiar there that she trusts to help her out.

I think I'm going to go look through my freezer and see if there's anything nukeable to eat and call it an earlier than usual night and try to get some sleep. This is really wearing me down.

Still have mixed feelings about China's numbers....I like that I don't have to worry about her while I'm gone, but I don't like that they seem to be leveling out in the yellows again. I'd feel just as comfortable leaving her alone at 180...maybe even 160 and feel she'd be OK when I made it back home

Hoping to be home in time for Ollie's OTJ parky too!! Such wonderful fuds always show up there..and games!! We luffs the games!!
