8/24 Calley AMPS 257; +6 reading said LOW

I'm so confused. So I test her at 8am AMPS and she is at 257. +2.5 was up to 315. Then at +6....the first reading did not give me a number....just said LOW. I have never had that happen before. So I pricked her ear again and used a new strip and got a reading of 336 within seconds of the LOW reading. WTH?????

So do I worry about her the rest of the day as if she is really LOW....or ????? I just fed her. I will test again in an hour.
 
You really need to get a new meter. These readings can makeeverybody confused and you really dont know how to act if not sure of thenumbers.
 
If the strip doesn't fill completely but is close enough, you can get a LOW reading.
Whenever the result is wonky, re-test.

The Confirm (aka Glucocard 01) uses a smaller blood drop so you are less likely to have an erroneous low. The strips do cost a bit more.

May I send you a new ReliOn micro meter? It's in a new case but won't have strips with it nor a lancet pen as I've robbed those. It was my backup meter for KT's and Dakota's micros. Since KT crossed Monday, I can use his as a backup for Dakota and really don't need this one. If this is OK with you, pm me your mailing address and I'll get it headed your way this week.

I think if you open up your original post, you can edit it, and put the icon back to "none"

I don't know how she is doing. Her bg numbers are down a bit and there hasn't been much vomiting, but she is still voraciously hungry. But I guess this is about all I can expect from her. So she is alive....which is good...though i'm not sure of the quality of life she has. I'm conflicted. :(

She goes from 7am to 3pm with no food and though at first I was worried about her going low....I think the less food in her belly during the day is helping with the no vomiting. So I think i'll continue that for a while and see what happens. I need to weigh her too to see if she has gained back any weight.
