Good morning!
Boomer ate all of his +3, all of his +6, but only about half of his +9. DH got up just after +9 and persuaded Boomer to come back to his dish and when DH came btb he said Boomer was eating. I got up anyways and Boomer had stopped eating so I picked dish up so that I wouldn't be testing at a food spike this morning. At any rate, I had been planning on trying a snack instead of a meal at +9 to see if I could get his BG to come down a bit....though of course with the auto feeder and with it being nighttime I have no way of knowing whether Boomer may have just finished his +6 fuds right before the +9 dish opened

I'm more than a little concerned about the high greens that Boomer is giving me; it wasn't too long ago that the high greens in remission became low blues. @julie & punkin (ga) has suggested getting Boomer to exercise and it's true that the only exercise he gets now is walking to and from his dish or when he changes nap location:rolleyes:. Not sure how I'll go about this as Boomer has never really been a playful cat. I've tried all kinds of toys but he gives them the "meh" look and walks away. I'm really tempted to let him into the basement as I know he'll at least be walking around down there. But doing that means that, if DH puts Allen's bowl down without first checking to ensure Boomer is upstairs, Boomer will have access to kibble. It's happened twice before. Nope, have to come up with a different plan.

Today DH and I are heading to Port Huron MI. I really love Hobby Lobby (for my newborn props) and DH is thinking about getting his granddaughter a dollhouse that they carry. So we'll be leaving right after normal testing/feeding time. It's about an hour drive from here.

I have a lazy civvie who is prone to weight gain if I don't keep an eye on her. She isn't one to vigorously play with anything and is an expert napper. She won't go up stairs on her own, but she'll go down the stairs. So I pick her and haul her up the steps and have her walk back down. We do this several times. It's not only exercise for her, but it gives me some much needed exercise too.

I had a thought about getting Boomer some exercise and had a few minutes before his breakfast to try it out. Boomer loves to be brushed! So I went to one end of our house with his brush and showed it to him.....he followed me. A couple of brushes later I walked to the other end of the house; he followed me. My plan was 5 round trips but the alarm I have set for his t/f/s interrupted us at 3.5 round trips.:smuggrin::smuggrin:

I love the "brush walking"! I got Doodles to swat an ice cube around the tile floor for a few minutes this morning. Seeing that ice hockey is big in Canada maybe Booms would like to try it out too? Toys do not interest my cats...only things that are not "theirs" get them somewhat interested. What bread is Boomer..any idea? Happy Day 13 buddy!

One more day Boomer, you got this.

Brush walks - that's great! So ridiculous the things these critters get us to do just to get them to move around a little. Boots is way less active now at 14 than he was in his younger years. We try to play with our civvies every day (they're younger and a bit more playful) but even Boots participates in "treat chasing" which we do each night - roll/throw their treats around the house to make them chase after them. Even Boots will break into a trot for that :)

Great job on the 92, Boomer! One day to go!
