Good morning everybody!
My pray for today: Healing for every person and for any fur baby that needs it. Amen

This is our yesterday Condo
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=124018

Yesterday night I was able to test him (after a few bites) at + 6 90 I am wondering if he went down than this.
Today Morning AMPS 119 (.25) after he well deserved dose reduction.

I can see the last couple of days he has been in blue and yesterday green, Is remission on our way? I am hoping this is what is happening. After so much tears will be nice.(I know everybody has been through this ) Any advice is always welcome !

Re: 8/24 Bobby +6.5 90 AMPS 119

Great job with the low number yesterday! My Polly was a very shy, hide-under-the couch kind of girl before we started the sugar dance. I remember herding her through the house, pulling her out from under the kitchen sink cupboards, and hauling her up to the bathroom vanity for testing. She hated it; she hated me.

But jumping up on that vanity meant 1) food, or 2) freeze dried chicken. It didn't take long for her to hear, "Polly, snack," and she'd beat me to the bathroom, fly up onto the counter, and let me test without too much fuss. It became a routine. Even though Polly's numbers are pretty high most of the time, I still test during the overnight hours. I want her to keep the habit. My alarm goes off; Polly (and my other two cats) run to the bathroom. She jumps up for a test and treat. The other two wait on the floor for their snack.

I send our karma to your Bobby that he discovers testing is just the first step in the treat process. Those overnight tests are so important.

It does get easier. Maybe never "easy" but easier.

Thanks Marily! Is good to know that it gets easier. How do you test? free lancet or do you use the device? It will great if people from here make more videos about it (an idea) the ones in YouTube are Ok needs more close and step by step.

It looks to me like your visit here will be very short. :-D

I have never used a lancing device. I actually prefer 25g terumo needles but I do use the alternative site lancets as well. My vet taught me with the needles which he himself prefers. The terumos are so sharp that I barely need to touch his ear to draw blood. With lancets I find that I sometimes need to prick more than once. It doesn't seem like anyone else uses the needles around here though.

I am hoping that we are getting close to remission (is my prayer every kitty here does too) Every tear, stress and effort is so worthy for the health of our fur babies, our lives went up side down when we found out the diagnoses, now our lives, schedule turns around Bobby. cat_pet_icon
I use the lancet device, some times I hit good, some times I hit the vein( I think) I need to keep practicing, but it hurts me every time I give him pain.
I may need to try the terumos needles, Have you consider making a Video?

Hi Judy,

Our Clare is on the same dancing path to remission (my prayer also!), and I think Bobby is showing us the way! You've done such a great job in managing the lows. The PM tests are harder to do (in our house it means usually that both of us set the timer or stay up, because Clare is more settled when we're both with her) but they really have taught us a lot, especially about managing the amount and type of food she should have.

Warm healing wishes to you and Bobby. See you on the green road!

Thanks Georgette! for you and all of us too.

Well, Mr. Bobby B decided to stay in the blues for today morning (cross fingers)
AMPS 119
+ 5 105
+7 128

He eats every 2 hours very small meals during the AM cycle, and 1/2 PM.
We are trying to put everybody in a schedule, but after having a full house of free feeders, is taking long for the schedule.

Hope Clare recovers soon from the Bouncing.

Hi Judy, you did a great job yesterday with Bobby's low numbers! I agree with Elise, it looks like your time here will be very short indeed! :-D

For my Miss Tiger, it is all about the treats- once she learned the sound of the Pure Bites Chicken treats, she is almost always waiting on her kitchen cushion to be tested! Also, if my hands are too cold, I don't try to test, she hates my cold clammy hands touching her ears and hates the rice sock heated in the microwave. Another thing, I found the lancet pen to be cumbersome and the noise bothered us. I use the little pin thingy freehand. It gets easier, you will see!

Thanks, Ruth! I am hoping Bobby hears you (and his pancreas too)

Bobby loves his treats too (Freeze-Dried Chicken ) he even comes when I shake the bag, but the moment that I am going to test, he starts growling and biting (he never, ever did that to me, he does at the vet office) I can see his ears are very swollen from yesterday, he cries when he scratches it.
Is good to know it will get better, I am watching any video and picture I found about testing, I even draw the shape of his ears in paper, I am practicing in it
