Good Morning LL!!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Elsa: best make the quad shots today.... one sleepy bean!), and Happy Furday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! today is TPIF Day! YUPP! Thank Pizza It's Friday! Lola and Bug love Friday's so they decided that since it is TPIF day that anyone can have any kind of pizza they wants - anythings!!! So get your orders in early! They say this is the way Furday's should be! I am exited too that it's Furday - so... I will make my Coffee Cat special of the day! FRAPPE FRIDAY! YUM!!!! Anything you want - just let me know. OOOOOO this will be such a good day. I am so glad that I found Mannie's frappe recipes last month. They were in the the treehouse. He kept everything in the treehouse.... DUH! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot Cappuccinos with extra foam, made from beans from High in the mountains of Jamaica. And for all my mocha fans: a Venti quad dutch apple infused white mocha, with caramel whip, garnished with caramelized apple clusters, white chocolate shavings and a caramel drizzle...... SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of apple and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with crystallized apple nits and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride.

WOO HOO!!!! IT IS FRIDAY FURDAY! :-D :-D :-D I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. We did well here, it was a family day, and I think we all enjoyed the time spent. It is always so nice to see William, and see how much he has grown and developed. What a treat. It is also hard to believe that he will be three months old in a week or so. Where did the time go? Deception Pass was great! I am glad that Erin asked to go there. It was a nice drive up there, 1.5 hours, so we were able to talk about some of the upcoming day care issues involved with caring for both boys. YAY! We got alot resolved, with lots of doable solutions. Another YAY! Here's what I wrote in last nights post about the day: " HI everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. All of us, Nicholas, William, Erin and myself had a great day. We did make Deception Pass - what a ton of fun! Deception Pass was great. We had good weather too, sun for the most part, no winds, no wet, no issues. We started out at West Beach, roamed there, let Nicholas play in the "swimming hole" that is there, did a little of the trail that heads south. The rest of the time was sent on North Beach. Little guy had fun doing little guy things. We are into throwing "boulders" these days, little rocks will no longer do.   They need to be at least 4-5" in diameter. Amazing that he can throw those big ones as far as he can. To funny. Latest adventure is log walking. He does pretty good for a 2yr old. He loves to jump off the ends, but won't do it without a helping hand. silly kid, but whatever works. We also made some time to walk across the Bridge at Deception Pass. it is an incredible bridge, spans the NW Passage. It is rather high up :o  and narrow :o  and busy with cars :o  , but.... WOW! The views from there are outstanding. William did great too, not too much fuss from him. It is amazing though how much time he really does take, between the diaper changes and the feeds. One tends to forget those things as they grow. I will be glad when we are down to just breakfast, lunch and dinner.  All in all a great day, we did what we could for exploration, before the almighty clock said time to go so Erin could make the connection and time she needed to pick up Jason. Little guy had a good day. As he's getting into his car he turns and says "we swim tomorrow, yes?" Yupp, that we will little guy, that we will. How can I not make that aspect of his life work for him? " Deception Pass

Normalcy in MusketeerVille.   and...................... CCCCCC-RASH! I heard alot of that in the early evening. LOLA!!!!! we knocked over two vases, three phones and their charging stations, one glass with water that held a plant I was rooting (well this is about the 4th time she's done that one), a few books, the tuna can off the counter (it was unopened - how did she know?), the snack jar, the bag of chips, AND the box with the cat fuds in it.... She was very busy, Of course Bug was helping, and then was stating his complete innocence. Elsa, per the norm, left when the fun started, not wanting to have a thing to do with their craziness. Smart kitty! Never ever a dull moment here. all I can say is..... GO LOLA!!!

Elsa Labs: I finally heard back from the vet on Elsa's labs. All is well. She could be at the very earl stage of kidney disease, but... levels are within range, just the BUN was elevated, a little. For a 17 year old kitty, I'm not at all surprised to hear this. The x-rays, which eh vet said indicated there was something in/near one the the nodules (right word?) in her right lung. The radiological that read the film said there was nothing of major concern, that there several things that could have caused this, primarily asthma, a few others. Since Elsa does not have any outward sign of bronchial problem, or asthma, we will reevaluate in 4 months, with another film, to see if there is any change. All the rest came back in great shape: BP was good, remaining labs, and UA was good. She may need a dental, but we will cross that bridge in a few months. I am leery of putting a 17 year old under anesthesia to clean her teeth, There are no noticeable bad spots in her mouth, just a lot of tartar. so.... all in all ELSA PASSED VETTY! YAY!!!!

Have a great day everyone. I am back on DGS duty today. it will be a swim day for Nicholas, and then whatever else looks good to him. More berries? Maybe ! We should have decent weather, at least there are no rains predicted. YAY! I will try and get to condos when I can.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

Good Morning, Guys,

What a great beach! Nicholas is getting really strong to throw those rocks overhand! So glad you had good weather for your family outing. And it's good that you got some workable ideas for when you have to take care of both boys. Nicholas will be a big help.

Elsa, congrats on passing your vetty tests. And thank you for the delicious ~O) ~O) . Boy, do we ever look forward to that coffee.

Lola outdid herself yesterday!

Have a great swim day today and a good start to the weekend,

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: A day with family.... WOOT!, Elsa's lab

Ok - I'll put my serious face on for a moment....regarding a dental for Elsa, I get the concern about doing it. May I suggest that you look to see if there is a board certified dental specialist in your area and take her for a consult.

I'm very fortunate to have two great dentists in my area that I use and highly recommend. Dyana took JD there and while nervous was totally reassured.

I suggest this, because a dental specialist unlike the general vet will have tools, tricks and such and be able to spend the necessary time to ensure that the procedure, if you go through with it, goes well. When Sydney had her last dental, I informed the dentist how fragile she is, the kidney and hyperT issues she now had and all the other concerns. An individualized plan was set up for Sydney and she came through just fine. Same with Buster and Maui - as each has their own issues.

If you decide NOT to do a dental, there are some things you can do at home. The dentist recommended this product to use:http://www.elitesciencevet.net/products/efac-for-cats-and-dogs

You can now purchase online as well as at some vets offices. It is pricey, but it is supposed to really help. I've been using it with Buster and Maui (ok, I haven't been as consistent as I need to be) and I'm hoping when we go for the next check up, it demonstrates that it is helping.

It is easy to use, snip the tip of the capsule, put on finger and rub on upper gums.

And of course, you can always try brushing her teeth, but if the tartar and stuff is already on there, brushing won't remove that, but will prevent additional buildup. And yes, I brush both girls teeth too.

Stepping off the serious train now.......

Hey Lil Bit,

I'd love to try today's special but what is an apple nit? Is that a special West Coast treat that we East Coasters don't get?

And who gave Nicholas the helping hand? Or did he get a helping paw from Sir Bear?! :-D :-D

Hey Lil Bit Pit - What's up GF?! You went to the vetty again! Do you need my bean to give you another bath? She said she can do that if you want and make you smell all nice and pretty and feel oh so soft. She will even turn on the warm fur blower and brush you at the same time! I loves that part!

When you finish your deliveries, I want to play on the swings. Do you have swings at the Tree House? If not, we can hook up swings on my yacht. Of course that means a jet trip to my yacht! Maybe we can pick up Rusty, Tess, Gobbles and Ollie on the way and practice with the CATapult!   That would be lots o' fun. Maybe we can land Rusty in the sea this time! At least he won't be muddy! Salty yes, but not muddy!

Sound like a plan? Let me know, I'm just hanging about at home.

Signed Maui the Magnificent, wanting to swing from the trees or yacht

Elsa! Thanks for the delivery of our triple shot Cappuccinos with extra foam, made from beans from High in the mountains of Jamaica! Purrfect start to the day! -- Auntie Annbean

Good test results for Elsa! :thumbup If you are still feeding the high protein foods that can account for the BUN, no need to worry unless the creatinine and phos are up as well.

Hillary, thanks for that link! Emma has really bad stomatitis and it sounds like it might be great for her. I found it at ADW for less than Amazon, 120 gelcaps for $50 (and FDMB gets the commission there too) Now it is also recommended for joint health! Double threat!

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: A day with family.... WOOT!, Elsa's lab

Hi Anne,

Yes, it used to be two separate products - one for joint health and one for periodontal. Then I think the company decided to combine the two together and call it 1-TDC or something like that. I think initially it started out for joint health and then they saw an added benefit that it helped with periodontal issues.

And what I do to save on cost is I use one capsule for both cats.

Re: 8/23 LOOSE LIPS: A day with family.... WOOT!, Elsa's lab

HI everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. The energizer FISH and I had a fabulous day in the pool. Awesome in fact. Today was lets play underwater day. I don't think my eyes will ever be the same...  There was a man there with his son who was trying to get the boy (4 or 5 yrs old maybe) to float, go underwater etc. Nicholas decided that he would show the kid how it is done, so he did. Everything was done under water, well most of it. ;-) That was funny. We both had to go under then he'd try and find me. So began our underwater game of hide and seek. I'd take a photo of him looking for me, we'd look at it when that hunt was over, he'd laugh and laugh and then it would be: "AGAIN, Grammie!, AGAIN!" So we did, over and over again.... It really was alot of fun. He watched another man showing his son how to do freestyle stoke. That was funny. I love it when parents try to teach. lol. Nick decided then that he could do that, so he did, one side of the beach area out the other. LOL: kid was so proud of himself. Alot of "Look, I'm swimming." he didn't do too badly either for a 2 yr old, at least his arms were out of the water, now if he'd get the face down part, LMAO. but it was fun. One happy little dude. Wednesday before we left I took him over to the big pool so he could watch lessons for some of the bigger kids, figured we'd spend a few, maybe 5 minutes watching so he could get a feel for it. oh sure... 15/20 minutes, and he didn't want to leave until lessons were over. Today he asked if he could watch again. So we did, same group of kids. It is interesting to watch him observe a class. Such focus, concentration on what they were doing. I don't think he moved a muscle or blinked an eye, just watched, listened as I explained to him what was going on, he commented on what he saw. Anyways - guess we will be doing that going forward. crazy. but good. I will post the Picassa link in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Pam - many thanks! I think I am darn lucky too, and enjoy every minute of it. THX too on Elsa. I am so happy that all seems to be well with her. and Lola? SO AGREED!

Hi Hillary - thanks for the link on that stuff for Elsa. I will look to that. Anything to help her out. Sounds easy enough to use, I could do that! I think the kitty dentist is a great idea too, and will look around for one. I so agree that they are more equipped to handle this kind of thing - for sure! It's good to know that you had good experiences. Elsa has always done well with them in the past, last one was when she was 14/15 I think. LOL on the serious train..... :-D
Auntie Hillary. ohhhhhh..... that was a typo...... darn bean! she messes everything up! it should have been bits!  AND! It was BEAR! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista
MAUI! GF! nooooooooooo! no bath! although she does give good baths! I do like that fur dryer! Mega cool! and YES! I am in: SWINGS! got them here next to the zip lines. Sure would be cool on the yacht. On my way! heeheehee on Rusty. ~~ Elsa

HI Ann - thnaks for the link. I may have to do that - sounds like it would be good for Elsa, help her out some. and yes on the high protein fuds - she eats munch of what Mannie ate: low carb, high protein, so I can see the elevated BUN. the others were were they should be.
Auntie Ann - SWEET! Another successful delviery! YaHOO! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

HI Carla - I think so on Lola - she's fun though! and yes on yesterday - a ton of fun! THX on Elsa too!

Hi Mary - LOL - I hate using the phone! I can so relate. Thx - will pass on the hugs. :-D

Hi Liz - I know.... it will be NUTS when I have both boys. Fun, but insanely busy. ;-) Hey thanks on Lola - rascal says it well. such a sweet face when she is sleeping, a terror on four legs when she is awake. THX too on Elsa, and that she is: dong very well for an older cat. YAY!

Hi Jane - THX on yesterday. We did have a ton of fun. It's always great to be able to head out with some of the family. Me too on Nicholas's swim time. I so hope it all works. Too funny on the "bug on the wall". I really do need to try and get some more videos!

Hi Amy - THX on Elsa - I think so too. One always worries when they get to be old kitties. LOL on Lola, me too. She's just such fun.
