If it is a pattern. I'd ask what is her signal that you are leaving and try and change it.

What sights and sounds change, semi-ish, the same time/way each time you get ready for a trip?

You took her from someone as an ogu (owner give-up), how was she given up? Left in a house with no food? Shelter? I don't what Willow heard or saw during that time. She's more attached to you than your wife? Did a male give-up Willow?

What happens if you get ready for the trip in a different manner?

My ideas area not specific ideas, because I don't know your method of packing and layout of the house, food for thought.... What is the same or similar every time? Does she have a visual or other sensory cue/s?

I've had to do some desensitization work since we got back from the u. Yesterday, my little boy nearly shut down completely during the process. It had me frazzled to see him like that, it's hard. He and I keep working to make him feel safe.

Possibly, Willow has triggers you are not aware of yet?

Thoughts?

Their is no real pattern, I leave once a week every month for my off road trips. It seems like a few days before the trips we get these scary

The previous owner was a man, had her since she was a little kitten, she was 14 years old, emaciated, covered in scabs from fleas, Locked in a garage for months.
When we went to see her I told my wife no one is going to addopt that cat in that condition. Long story sort we picked her up the next day. Willow slept on my chest the first night hugging me, the ride to the vet when we picked her up and the ride home she did not Merow one time, very odd that she did not Merow.
She took over the bed and would attack our two other cats if they came near her. That took over a year to get her to stop attacking them. Of course this was after we had two teeth pulled because they were broken and the nerve exposed.

I never pack until the night before my trips.
I'm thinking the ants getting into her food caused her not to eat and due to no food her BG dropped.
